  1. It's probably a good thing GG wasn't included as an official game again this year. The majority of the scene does not enter other games and because of this many people can't or don't want to pay the $50 dollar base fee for evo just to play in GG. Holding GG singles and teams as a side tourney may not be as hype since it won't be part of evo finals, and takes members of the community to step up and run, but it's almost guaranteed to get a larger percentage of the GG players to enter since the entry fee will be so much lower.
  2. Didn't check anything on mixi but the source for all the BBS stuff is one post with no source seems like enough people believe it though, wonder when tougeki will make it official..
  3. source?
  4. America doesn't really have any top players with varied and strong enough comp to base something like a whole matchup chart on anyways. This is seen as well in Japan, but to a way smaller degree because the average level is so much higher. Also, best robo in the US is stormlocke hands down
  5. wow nice turnout, i will try to make to next!!
  6. aka donate a dollar to ginseng
  7. you can't cancel jump into ground normals
  8. Once you've used an air option after jumping, your character will automatically turn around. For example if you jump normally over the other character you won't turn around until you double jump, after double jumping your character will always turn to face the opponent (even if you double jumped from the original side, it will turn around right away when you pass them). Superjumping counts you as already having used your air option and automatically turns you around as if you doublejumped. There actually is a minimum height in the air as you fall where you can't do anything airborne, and are considered grounded. For example when Potmemkin does a low j.H crossing up, he can input slidehead the original direction and cancel directly into it on the ground facing away from the opponent. I don't have the game hooked up to play atm, but try doing your motion quicker first to get a SJ if you're not, or try doing the motion slower as to avoid the SJ, and then TK the motion the other way (for a doublejump). I think for that example it will also depend on the opponent's hitbox, since it'll determine when (and if) you cross them up at all. You may just be crossing them up too late if you do it too low?
  9. who's going tonight?
  10. The list of changes in the old noel guide thread covers most stuff, i put asterisks on what I suspected could be wrong info that was in there.
  11. there is tons of misinformation in here.. this should not be stickied or "official"
  12. The move's name is flash hider.. http://blazblue.jp/cs/images/chara/noel_05.jpg
  13. It is not hard for good players to pick up new characters generally because having strong knowledge of the game system leaves only learning a new set of moves and maybe new movement. You already have a good idea of their oki, poking options, and even combo timing simply from watching or playing against decent players enough. For any good fighting game there is enough depth that even top players cant compete with other top players using more than 1 or 2 characters though. Comparing bb to gg though, since blazblue has fewer combo routes, options from nuetral, and a smaller cast (fewer matchups) the learning curve to top level play is lowered drastically and almost any decent player can have multiple mains with ease. The potential benefit from doing so is also lowered in my opinion, since the game is at a level you dont need to play most characters to understand them nearly completely. You also don't see it that much because the cast is pretty limited and most players aren't interested in many chars.
  14. Wtf last i heard of yar playing gg was alt's tourney for slash haha
  15. more drills
  16. bang mashes buttons, tsubaki gets outdamaged.
  17. i wanna play wish it was closer :[
  18. apparently it's the name of the move, flash haida- (hider) you want to end your combos in drive stuff since it's the most damage you're going to get and knocks them down.
  19. lol nice
  20. Most of the time you block an eddie unblockable, it's because the eddie missed timing. Consistently changing from high to low block on the exact wakeup frame is not really feasible, especially when he has the option to cross up as well. When the unblockable is two projectiles ([d] and 22d) according to what I've seen in training mode it actually changes which hits first, so that's even less feasible. Not to mention the eddie could just let the puddle hit first in a puddle unblockable if he wanted (although he wouldn't, since this lets the opponent escape it by blocking the puddle first low)
  21. don't lie, you aren't sad enough
  22. Fairly expected results, would like to see vids. I hope events like this are still being run when I'm out of school and have time and money to spend.
