  1. NCI TOP 4S FOR GUILTY GEAR AND MELTY BLOOD, AND TOP 8S FOR BLAZBLUE ARE LIVE STREAMING RIGHT NOW! http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nci-11-06-10
  2. We are currently low on display setups. As of now, BlazBlue will have 3, MB 2 and GG 2. This will be fine tomorrow but the event will work through itself much slower than last time. If you have equipment that can be brought, for casuals to grow the scene, please register and or bring it. The person responsible for having Microsoft in contact with us will also be on-site the event and will require everyone's attention for a small while. Depending on displays and general streaming workings, there may or may not be a SCR live stream setup. The final update to the information will be 8-11PM tonight. Looking forward to seeing you all. ~Chun
  3. Do tell me what things should be altered in the future, but it's too late to shift too many things around at this point as I've also contacted a couple of other clubs in participation.
  4. Entry Fee for this iteration has been updated. Tournaments are run on PS3 setups, casuals will be run with spectators on 360s. Also, in regards to being on time; please come on the assumption I'm going to be strict. If we seek to become bigger we must start getting into the habit of holding a slightly more professional attendance hour than a holding for all friends. That isn't to say there isn't any flexibility, but starting the habits should make things overall easier. ~Chun

  9. Yeah, that would be correct Aquas. I'm tired of the non-updating of this thread so expect a new thread later today.
  10. My hands have more views than my matches. DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL On a side note, I'm making arrangements to possibly have a viewing of the stream going on of SCR at NCI for viewing on the side, go go Norcal Crew~
  11. Keeping it logical; 1/3 of the games do not decide the other 2/3s. Ultimately it's on the tournament organizers for what days they wish, and all of them said the 6th is fine. It has nothing to do with tradition, it's reliant on the people that are organizing.
  12. Still relying on the setups brought by people, PS3 preferred.
  13. The good news is the Microsoft representative got back to me. We are getting 2 XBOX360s, Controllers, and One Copy of BlazBlue. However, they were not able to supply us with Sticks, Displays, or any other material. So this will be on standby for casual setups to get more people playing one another. No $. Sorry for the lack of updates, I would enjoy it if the first post was edited. ~Chun
  14. Date will not change from November 6th unless a compelling argument is given by tournament bracket organizers in MB, GG, and BB. There is a possibility NCI will be sponsored by Microsoft for XBOX360 setups for BlazBlue and other prizes, but the negotiations are still in progress. I will be on floor the entire time this upcoming month, as I was previous NCI, checking on everything. I would really appreciate if people voiced concerns at site than tell me as an afterward in a thread tucked on the internet after a believed success; going back to "You had to be an idiot to think everything was ok"-type statements are very disheartening and after the fact. When I check on rooms, I genuinely want to know what could be wrong or what is changed; I really mean it, tell me exactly what you want and I'll work it out. Expect more info in the upcoming week, despite the BB event in SoCal and other assorted events in the region, at its core NCI is NCI for all games equally, and I will honor at least those sentiments. Looking forward to hosting the venue again. Expect a new thread with relevant information for convenience. And please be on time. ~Chun
  15. Nate wins an internet. Also, that sandwich was crazy; sweet roll? 2:1 cheese ratio? Still thanks for the free food~
  16. Hey, Nakoruru Ratio-2 K-Groove almost got me that runback!
  17. Actually, the current idea is to checkerboard setups across all rooms. BB GG MB, BB GG MB, then other room BB GG MB Poverty, to increase exposure and mingling across games. Also there's my idea of doing like Evo stream; Reserve a time for top 8 finals across all games, and reserve certain time slots before top 8 for respective games and whatever tournament match is happening at the time for that game. This is offhand, I'll have a final schedule by next week. Thanks again Katana. ~Chun
  18. I just got off the phone with magz and Tsubasa. First off, regardless if it was out of my hands or not, I apologize to the GG and MB community if it appeared that BlazBlue was made a priority during the stream. I made the assumption that the previous NCI format was more than enough to cover all scenes, and let the IPW stuff and the promise of the stream on BBVLog run its course. As a person that enjoys both the Melty Blood and Guilty Gear scene, I'll be amending the layout of the games to keep the area from being so segregated, and hopefully garner interest in the games. Ultimately the previous go was a test experiment and was re-arranged on-site to avoid the fire hazard issues and keep the tournament calling efficient. That way things don't seem so separated. Also, I wish to express that although streaming for BlazBlue was appreciated, it's not required; if the GG and MB community wish to use the equipment for those games only, that is fine, as the BB community does owe it to the stream equipment providers for the ability to do so, and should be thankful for it. Big thanks to Tsubasa and magz for allowing the BB community to use the hardware for the stream and match recordings. Otherwise, if there are any concerns or complaints from the people that were present the entire time, do feel free to post to me or below so I can work it out. We are Norcal. For someone that didn't care at all about how it was run or planned, you sure act haughty when you hear one thing go wrong. ~Chun
  19. Definitely, I agree with this point. BlazBlue had a lot of intermediate matches streamed on the channel during the time which Guilty Gear was in top 8 or MB was top 8. Thanks to the alternate ease of setup we have, we can interchange between the streams quite easily by login, so I'll make it a reality somehow! The major problem with the streaming schedule is how late the tournaments start; I like to give leeway for people to warm up on arrival, but when we start up and sign in at 3:00PM it's a little harder to manage. However, if there's no way to get earlier, then I'll try to integrate as much of each scene as possible without being too jumpy. I had a few BB people over and we re-discovered how fun GG was. Look forward to a few more entrants in the next month! I think we could use an introduction to Guilty system somewhere before the tournaments and that would increase the flow of attendance and learning. However, I'd need volunteers for it, and this might not happen next month, but the one after. Seriously, thanks for your feedback Rod, I've been waiting for some ideas. ~Chun
  20. It's looking like November 6th is a go, organization as usual is appreciated, KatanaDash if you are reading, please prepare an equipment checklist form as before, it really helped a lot in the planning last time, thanks for doing it. Still figuring out the venue fee situations. In recent concerns for exposure time from the GG and MB scenes, I'm currently working out a general schedule of display time windows so that BB doesn't overwrite most of the tournament. More info on that later this month.
  21. If I can be frank... Shut the fuck up. Things went smoothly and, as I heard from people, were very enjoyable at the last ranbat, and I'm very happy to have been of service. However, what I don't want is to hear any bullshit from you about how nobody did this, or nobody did that at the last NCI that I organized, because that's pretty much the implication you've had for the past few days. I don't want to hear some dumbass armchair argument about how BlazBlue didn't do a single thing to help MB or GG get off the floor or run successfully at the last meet when all you did was provide no information, update the info for my venue late as all hell with inaccurate times, and say you weren't coming then end up coming. "Oh, I'm taking a break, I'm leaving, etc etc." Man, MAKE UP YOUR GODDAMN MIND ALREADY. I consulted with AJ and the rest of the crew on their setups on site and made sure everything was quite comfortable for both scenes, and that everything would run up on time. I even had 4 CRTS ON BACKUP with my own PS2 ready in case there was a need for more. I didn't undermine a single thing about the GG crew (IN fact, I was very happy to meet all of them again and glad to know everything was comfortable), and the MB Crew was equally satisfied with the efforts. I didn't deny a single thing about streams; if GG or MB wanted some usual airtime, I would have made the arrangements because I was on the assumption of the current layout being alright given the previous NCI. It's true that BlazBlue had most of the stream time, and that's quite true since it is the hot topic, and it is the publicity behind it. However, this isn't mutually exclusive; there is planning for next month to increase the exposure of the MB and GG game to the world as things were before. If the GG or MB scenes desire it, I'll make it happen, it's what I do. SO BEFORE YOU MAKE ALL THESE ARMCHAIR ASSUMPTIONS, REALIZE THIS. If you have the fucking audacity to call out the scene on the instance of the previous ranbat and how it was run, do us all a goddamn favor and either actually give a shit about how it happened before it happened, and not bitch about how some horrible plague one game has done to your original NCI layout when you're not even fucking there anymore and don't advocate going. Hell, I didn't hear a single objection when you integrated it in your NCI tournament organization, seems pretty fucking hypocritical to call it out after the integration started with you then blame the rest after your "leave", Mr. TaoFTW. I'm no god. Only with the help of every scene organizer, this shit is under my belt, and I'll be running with all communities to make it all a success, heaven or hell, because I actually care to continue working with it, not just sit back and collect money. Their happiness and ability to relax and have fun on site is my happiness. REAL TALK. ~Chun
