Synthesis Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I've thought this for a while. I just thought everyone would think I was retarded if I brought it up. I don't want to be Blade.
HiagoX Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Lol. I like everyone re-explaining what Jiyuna said, only making it more complicated. Reading something twice to understand it is infinitely better than reading 100 different second hand interpretations of the original. I had to read it only once, am I gdlk yet?
Spirit Juice Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Once I played Rock Paper Scissors. My opponent and I both threw rock but I lost because he had bigger hands. 6-4 match up.
Synthesis Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Once I played Rock Paper Scissors. My opponent and I both threw rock but I lost because he had bigger hands. 6-4 match up. This guy gets it.
HiagoX Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Once I played Rock Paper Scissors. My opponent and I both threw rock but I lost because he had bigger hands. 6-4 match up. Nice pickup.
Mumm-Ra Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Euclid must be rolling in his fucking grave. Jiyuna, I get what you mean, specially since I main Arakune and Ara mirrors are annoying as fuck, but what you're saying doesn't really apply to the way we're looking at matchups here in a logical fashion.
St1ckBuG Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Someone make a mirror matchup chart. TEAM STICKBUGGGG, ASSEMBL..... nevermind. Sup guys? I hear this thread is good.
Tong Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Once I played Rock Paper Scissors. My opponent and I both threw rock but I lost because he had bigger hands. 6-4 match up. This game is broken as hell. Rock will ALWAYS lose to paper, not matter how big you hand is. Edited November 4, 2010 by Tong
HiagoX Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Rock? Losing to scissors? Stay free' date=' Brazil.[/quote'] Yo, we have dem strong old trees. Thus our paper is like, gdlk. 9-1 matchup against any Rock.
farranpoison Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Regardless of chance, you can't risk throwing things out that will give you the momentum, and thus the fight feels harder than even, because if you make a mistake you'll pay for it. Because of this, you limit your own options. This is just like Mu's matchup with taokaka: Because Taokaka limits her oki and limits her pokes, the matchup is bad. Now, if your mirror limits your options, the will make the matchup against you, regardless if they are limited too. They feel the limitations on themselves, too, but they can't possibly know how the matchup feels for you. They can only tell how it feels for themselves, and so it feels 6-4, and their perception in this case determines the matchup. Again, your logic is fail. In Mu vs Tao, Mu feels to be at a disadvantage, and Tao feels to be at an advantage. Thus, the matchup is in Tao's favor. In Mu vs Mu, one Mu feels that they are at a disadvantage. Well what do you know, SO DOES THE OTHER PERSON. Like I said before, you feel the matchup is 4-6, the opponent feels the matchup is 6-4. Thus it boils down to being goddamn EQUAL. Euclid must be rolling in his fucking grave. Jiyuna, I get what you mean, specially since I main Arakune and Ara mirrors are annoying as fuck, but what you're saying doesn't really apply to the way we're looking at matchups here in a logical fashion. This man gets it. Stay gdlk man. Edited November 4, 2010 by farranpoison

Dacidbro Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Why is this so hard to understand A character who has all equal matchups and a easy to learn mirror is theoretically a better character than a character who has all equal matchups and a frustratingly hellish to learn mirror because you can invest more time learning your other equal matchups than the character who has a frustrating mirror DO YOU GET IT NOW THANK YOU SHUT UP DUSTLOOP
farranpoison Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 "No Dustloop, you ARE the Smash forums." And then Dustloop was the Smash forums.
Sahgren Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 And then the world came to an end, as all Smash wins are a loss for all humanity.
Xtra_Zero Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 What I learned from this thread: JP lists are based on how ezmodo a character is.
Beautiful Death Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Farranpoison you can't win this I recommend you let it go. "You can't always get what ya waunt." Don't worry I hold the position you do. Don't rag on Mashboards I was born there.
farranpoison Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 <@Circuitous> lol <@Circuitous> I told my brother, who doesn't play fighting games, about this matchup thing. <@Circuitous> And he's like, yeah, it'd obviously be 5-5 <@Circuitous> then he continues playing Rock Band. <@Circuitous> Then the song ends <@Circuitous> and he just shakes his head <@Circuitous> "It'd be dead even. Why? Just... why?!" <@Circuitous> IT DIDN'T SIT RIGHT WITH HIM, GUYS. <@Circuitous> It festered.
Leaf Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 superior master race logic is too complex for baka gaijins to comprehend.
