JG Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Seem to me that bang isnt getting nerferd, only one thing. Or im wrong? because it look like he will keep having his godlike 5a-2a
iamkitkatbar Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 lol Tsubaki.. Tsubaki can crush someones guard the opponent just has to be really shitty at the game
LordSpectreX Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 He's been nerfed. The changes from the first locktest still applies.
Sophisticat Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 <3 you post a video of american tourney level players as the CS video, and bbct netplayers on the CT. "just know your wrong and I am very disappointed with you." EDIT: These characters were broke as fuck in CT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0KgQbxKefs Hey look, I can play that game too :-) What am I supposed to get out of that besides being reminded that Arakune and Jin were both incredibly bullshit in CT and that they are now slightly less bullshit? That's like posting a video of a Bang mirror in CS and being like LOOK HOW FAST THEY KILL EACH OTHER. ???? Not sure what everyone is seeing in these vids, but I was just trying to show the speed and perspective difference between CT and CS. In CT, the characters were pixelated, so they zoomed out the view in CS. It makes the characters look better, but it also makes it so there's more space to move around. This should have been the most immediate of visible differences. Overall, matches in CS ARE slower than CT matches. I could post any number of CT v. CS vid comparisons, and CT would win out in terms of match speed. Besides that, I just picked two random vids that happened to feature the same characters. So...
Airk Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'm...really not seeing the perspective difference. I even did my own research here. Since both games have variable zoom, it's really hard to make a clean comparison. =/ The CT vid you posted did seem to be moving faster, but that almost felt like it was just because the characters' moves were faster, so... I'm just at a loss. It seems weird that they would make that sort of change though. Disclaimer: I never played CT.

Spirit Juice Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 So it seems like we don't have any new info anymore, huh? When is the next loke test, again? This weekend?
RadRed Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 So it seems like we don't have any new info anymore, huh? When is the next loke test, again? This weekend? I believe so looking at this page on the Japanese BlazBlue website. I like the fact that primer-crushing can be either a strength or weakness for a character. I think it adds variety to the style choices that a player has. I think it would be a lot more bland if every character had about an equal chance to guard crush the other player. I reckon you have a point, but I think certain match ups would be a bit more interestin' if some characters had more of an increased chance of guard crushin' their opponent. It'd certainly prompt me to be more mindful of my defensive skills and I think it'd do the same for other players.
soujiro seta Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Isn't it Saturday in Japan? Yes, although it's still early in the morning over there though. We might not get any info until later today or tomorrow.
Justice7541 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Seem to me that bang isnt getting nerferd, only one thing. Or im wrong? because it look like he will keep having his godlike 5a-2a - No more 2-3 seal minimum combo off everything (air-to-air j.B = 3 seals lol wat). - No more ending everything with Daifunka whenever you feel like it for an extra 2k damage. - No more seals on crouching opponents. - No more poking with 5B. - 2C basically useless outside of corner now. + MEATY 2D IS BACK + lol i can just dial in all my blockstrings and just end with 5B + Probably some other stuff but I don't really care that much since MEATY 2D IS BACK.
Airk Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 ...REALLY NOW? Uhm, yes? I skipped SF4 and went straight to Super, too. Is that strange?
Mumm-Ra Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Uhm, yes? I skipped SF4 and went straight to Super, too. Is that strange? How can you try to debate the difference in speed between two games if you didn't even play one of them?
Airk Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 How can you try to debate the difference in speed between two games if you didn't even play one of them? ... I was trying to do it from the videos? Wasn't that what they were for? If the difference in speed is so significant, shouldn't it be visible? Otherwise, why bother linking the videos at all?
Airk Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Hooray, I'm already being ridiculed. Thank you for your time, but, well, if this were an objective phenomenon, I shouldn't need to have played the game to detect it. I don't have any preformed opinions here. When Sophisticat posted that "CT was a much faster game." and that it had "more space" (Both direct quotes) and then went on to link videos, I didn't think it was a huge leap of faith to theorize that anyone should be able to tell, from the evidence presented, that CT was in fact objectively faster and objectively had more space. If that can't be determined from visual evidence, then either it's not nearly so apparent (Certainly a number of people in this thread who appear to have played CT don't seem to be convinced) as the term "much faster" might lead one to believe, or that it's not, in fact, an objective phenomenon at all, which would certainly explain the difference in opinion. Well, it's been fun. Now back to your regularly scheduled complaining about how Arcsys has no idea what they're doing.
Dacidbro Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Bang 2C isn't worthless outside of the corner, it's still knockdown with bumper oki. It's only worthless if you're comparing it to previous. Also, it seems like hitconfirming 2B daifunka on crouching opponent midscreen may be super important, since 2C Daifunka likely won't work anymore, and you WANT to be in the corner real bad.
Sophisticat Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Hooray, I'm already being ridiculed. Thank you for your time, but, well, if this were an objective phenomenon, I shouldn't need to have played the game to detect it. Shouldn't need to? You kind of have to have played CT to really notice the subtle changes; a difference in space can make a large difference in match pace. But it's not just that. Damage was nerfed, time outs happen every so often (rare in CT, though it depended on matchup), longer combos, more space to cover, etc. "Much faster" doesn't just relate to the visuals, but also to how quickly you had to make decisions and reactions within matches. Space plays a direct role in this by determining how frequently confrontations happen, how much range a move has, etc. These are objective criteria. You must have played the game to notice them, just like you can't appreciate GG's speed until you have to do on-the-fly combos and decisions in-match.
psycofang2 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Disclaimer: I never played CT. you should have just topped right there...play CT BEFORE stating a counter argument. @sophi how much slower is CS now? i forget
ZONG_one Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Anyone know when is the next loketest? A few hours.
