Throw Noel in there too. 5A -> 6A -> 6C -> Drive combo only does 2.3k, while it did 3k in CT. Haida loop always did ~5k damage. 5C COUNTER -> 5D -> 6C -> 214A -> etc. did 4.3k in CT. 5C CH -> 5D -> 6A -> 6C -> stuff does 3.3k in CS.

Noel only gained damage off of corner throws and lol clean 5D hits. Then again, Haida loop is now easier in CS...

I'm pretty sure the stages in CS are the same size as in CT. Also what damage nerfs? Rachel, Arakune, Nu, Jin, and Carl (i.e. the top tiers) were the only ones who got overall damage nerfs. What you mean is that the combos are longer but they also deal more damage. The exception is Hazama who takes forever to finish his combos and barely does any damage in the process. Litchi's 5k combos are the only significantly long ones, but that's hardly generalizable to the entire cast. Plus you only have to watch Litchi do 2-3 combos and the round is over.

CS only has more time overs because you have zoning characters who don't deal as much damage (Hazama, Lambda, Rachel). Nu didn't get as many time-overs since she did, like, 4k-5k with every long-range poke.

I don't even wanna list the many reason's why your wrong.

just know your wrong and I am very disappointed with you.

hes right CT was faster. sophi quit posting correct information, ppl ignore those.

Well, to the unbelievers, I'll just post two vids for comparison. Perhaps ya'll need to be reminded of CT. :P

Sleek CT Second: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMug04z0wRg

I'll be damned if CT wasn't much faster (and dare I say, much more fun as broke as it was?).

<3

you post a video of american tourney level players as the CS video, and bbct netplayers on the CT.

"just know your wrong and I am very disappointed with you."

EDIT: These characters were broke as fuck in CT.

don't you dare use that video.

the biggest mistake sophisticat made was posting a CS video that had 2 out of 3 and then posted a CT 3 out of 5.

anyways my point still stands.

CT Jin VS Arakune matches were always hype. The only character to stand a chance against the top three against the character that just shreds through the rest of the cast like tissue paper. :P

Anyway, I just wanted to say, sure CS is newer and is more balanced, but it's not exactly new for an older version of a fighting game to have adherents over a newer version. Everyone hated SF3 when it first came out and now a lot of players prefer SF3 over SF4. And SF2 is still considered the best out of all of them despite being the oldest. :P It was also the least balanced and most hilariously broken one of them all, with 7-3 matchups all over the place and "touch of death" combos and such. So what? That's what made it fun. Marvel VS Capcom 2 is the most broken thing ever but people get so hype over it they bet their cars.

If CS was just CT + nerfing the top three + the new characters it would have been the better game than CS as it is now, in my book. CS is still good, it's just... I enjoyed CT more. CS is more balanced (although it still has... its fair share of problems) but CT was the better and funner fighter.

This ends my off topic post. :eng101:

Has there been any word from Arc Sys about revising challenge mode with this CS2 patch? I can't help but feel all of these changes to move properties will make challenge mode rather useless.

Hell the CS2 patch won't be for another 6-8 months at best, so I'm sure new information will come down the pipeline eventually.

What am I supposed to get out of that besides being reminded that Arakune and Jin were both incredibly bullshit in CT and that they are now slightly less bullshit? That's like posting a video of a Bang mirror in CS and being like LOOK HOW FAST THEY KILL EACH OTHER.

I dunno about that.

Back in the midst of playing it, I sincerely thought that Calamity Trigger was a really solid and fun fighting game (It still is), but in retrospect, a lot of aspects of it ranging from character balance to the actual game system itself were.. to put it bluntly; pretty awful. Hahaha.

The Barrier Burst system was poorly thought out and the 'character balance' was laughable at best. Other things I'm rather wishy-washy about, such as Guard Libra in comparison to the Guard Primer system. Granted, I find that I prefer one over the other on a case by case basis.

I understand how Guard Libra in combination with the properties of Barrier Burst made match ups like the Nu vs. Tager unbelievably stupid (Legacy Edge into Barrier Burst, hahaha), but I'm still not entirely sure if that warranted Tager getting a whooping ten Guard Primers in Continuum Shift.

Certain characters heavily benefit from the Guard Primer system whereas others have a rather difficult time guard crushing the opponent which kind of bugs me. Overall tho', I think the combination of system changes (Guard Primer, Break Burst, etc.) as well as the better (but still not good) balance make Continuum Shift a much better game.

I can only hope that Arc System works continues to work and improve BlazBlue to the point where it can possibly come close to or match up to quality of the often praised Accent Core +.

It can't be perfect until they add Jubei to the roster tho'. Nope; never.

except for the part where they announced it'll be on december 9th

that's for arcades but they said initially the balance patch was going to be 6 months after console continuum shift, which ~just so happens~ to coincide with BBCSII's release. will most likely happen around the same time if not shortly after.

I like the fact that primer-crushing can be either a strength or weakness for a character. I think it adds variety to the style choices that a player has. I think it would be a lot more bland if every character had about an equal chance to guard crush the other player.
