I wouldn't try to mash it out but rather just hit it as fast as you can. It will also help show how long it takes for the move to be registered after you hit the button to give a better sense of the timing for the move I think. Like sometimes (when I was practicing) if I tried to mash out IAD j.C, only the IAD would come out no matter how fast I mashed the j.C.

Yeah. I've learnt not to mash out the j.C, especially since if you do that and do get the j.C, j.CC follows almost straight away which is bad.

Back to training mode I suppose~

Oh, on another note, attempting DP whiffs again, got the motion down again and using j.214B(w) instead of j.214A(w) to save myself having to dash. I can't seem to land 2CC afterwards though, or very rarely. 2C can connect fine but they're usually out of range for 2CC. Anyone got any tips on the timing for that?

Just learn to whiff j.214A and then dash. Some people swear by whiffing j.214C, but that's actually a bit less consistent in my experience, even if it is easier.

Agreed with this. You can follow up j214a easily even if you hit the j214a pretty late. You won't be able to do anything else in whatever they're calling the next version of BB anyway.

I delay the second C after 2C a little bit. My practice still isn't consistent, but at least it does connect after various tries. Also, 2C should be connected as late as possible, so the opponent won't float too high for the second C.

I have a question regarding one of Ginseng's combo:

throw > dash 2B 2CC > 22C > 5C 2C > 236B 214B 22B

The 5C couldn't hit no matter what I tried, so I have to use 5C(w)C 2C instead. I guess that's fine, but it's kinda bugging me. The opponent always slided too low to get hit by the first 5C. Is it character specific? I tried it on Jin and Hazama, and both failed. Haven't tested on other characters yet.

For that combo, it's best done if the 22C hits them while they're still relatively high. That way, they're still sliding when you use 5C. It's also more consistent if you do a very short dash after 22C.

Also, Jin's hitbox makes it hard to connect certain OTG combos, so you'll want to practice on other characters.

The sliding 5C > 2C pick up doesn't work on Jin.

It should work fine on Haz. Make sure you're in the corner when you do it and as noted above, hit them with 22C high and do a dash 5C instead of a standard 5C.

Is there a proper 6C Fatal combo I should be using? The combo thread doesn't have any. I just go into 214D and IAD combo if I have a charge, or air combo if I don't.

6C>214D>2CC>IAD>j.CC>land>5C>2CC>IAD>j.CC>land>5B>2CC>236B>214B>22B is the standard fatal combo with charge.

As for chargeless, the best I've come up with is 6CC>236C>5A>5B>2CC>IAD>j.CC>5B>2CC>236B>214B>22B.

Got it without too much trouble~ 4346 damage, nice

5300 with air combo ender, 2 charges, and 50 meter. XD Need to make Noel pay for doing wakeup drive. >_>

Oh, in the corner, 6CC>j.C>214D>land>5C(w)C>2CC>IAD>j.CC>land>5B>2CC>22C>5C>2C>236B>214B>22B does more damage than the double IAD.

And the meterless fatal combo I posted doesn't like working in the corner. It's possible, but has really strict timing. You can also use 2A instead of 5A, which is probably more advisable, since 2A has better P2 proration.

Found a new much better chargeless fatal combo for the corner just now too. 6CC>22C>dash 5C(w)C>2CC>IAD>j.CC>land>5B>2CC>236C>5C>236B>214B>22B. Does 3802 on the PSP version of the game.

Thanks Kiba. I didn't know we could extend DP whiff combos with 236C. And on that note, I can't get that 5C after 236C to land, and I assume they're not Rachel/Tager specific. Got any video reference for them?

Those are some fine combos.

People should definitely add them to their arsenal.

Just don't forget wonky hitboxes of certain characters can make the 2CC > 236C > etc etc difficult to land.

Just a few quicks with some of these combos as in regards to Jin.

1) 5B - 5CC - 623C - J.214A(w) - 2CC (max height) - 236C - 5C - 2CC - 22C - 5C - 2C - 236B - 214B - 22B(3.4k)

The 5C 2C pickup will whiff, whereas 5C(w)C 2C will hit and still allow you to get the same 3.4k damage. Same applies to the 5C CH version.

2) 5C CH - 6CC - 623C - J.214D - 5C(w)C - 2CC - IAD J.CC(delay) - 5B - 2CC - 22C - 5C - 2C - 236B - 214B - 22B (5.1K)

Again, the 5C 2C pick will whiff since Jin techs after the 22C KB. We can still do 5C CH - 6CC - 623C - J.214D - 5C(w)C - 2CC - IAD J.CC(delay) - 5B - 2CC - 236B - 214B - 22B for 4.9K though.

3) 5B - 5CC - 623C - J.214A(w) - 214D - 6CC - 623C - J.236A(w) - J.214D - 5C(w)C - 2CC - 22C - 5C - 2C - 236B - 214B - 22B (4.6K)

Again, just use 5C(w)C 2C pickup and you'll still land the 4.6K.

That's probably already known but I just wanted to get that out there.

It is better from your 5B starter Kiba, because it can be started when you have only 1.3 install and it does 4.7k \o/

You just must have to be at the distance from where the 22D will cause a wallbounce.

That combo also does the same damage as mine, and tbh I'd prefer to use your one haha! You should post more regularly dude. I can't really come on PSN because of uni so I can't get alot of games with you.

I'm assuming anyone with a small hitbox since that's usually who it doesn't work when I try.

Ah that's fair. I've found it's the 22C - 236C is difficult to connect against Carl, or maybe you can't connect it at all.

Or alternatively, it could just be me.

Also yeah, I dont think the 236C - 5C 2CC variations work on Carl. 236C - 5C 2CC - 22C - 5C 2C will hit, but the 236B - 214B - 22B will whiff.

Combo for when you're too far from the opponent to use DP whiff, but bear in mind the 2C may whiff on characters with smaller hitboxes.

Alternatively you can do:

2BB - 5CC - 236C - 2A - 5BB - 5CC - 214A - 22A.

This also works from a 6A if you're far (or hitting with the last few active frames of 236C). This combo isn't as easy to do in the corner btw.

I'd think it's an intermediate combo.

Have you tried delaying it a little more? There should be plenty of time to hit with it there.
