Errol Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I thought I read that 5c->5d was 0f advantage on block, so I figured: In jab range? jab, outside jab range, 5b. I'll have to try when I get extend..
Eshi Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I thought I read that 5c->5d was 0f advantage on block, so I figured: In jab range? jab, outside jab range, 5b. I'll have to try when I get extend..obviously there are answers to it, but outside of sandbagging it's still a great block string to make people nervous. you can throw out 5A > 5C > 6B to fish for counterhits, and it's +1 on block too. I'm not gonna focus on Tsubaki but dat 5C is so good.
Eshi Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Is Makoto your main for extend?Yes, I'm definitely switching. I'm having a crazy fun time discovering all of her new shenanigans. I'll play with Tsubaki some for fun but she's strictly secondary status for now.
Her_Omen Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I'm havng a lot of trouble adjusting to Tsubaki in matchs on Net now. Not to mention I never really learned the rapid cancel mechanics in CT, so now I have no clue what is up with that. ): Saying that just made feel tremendously scrubbish.
Airk Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I thought I read that 5c->5d was 0f advantage on block, so I figured: In jab range? jab, outside jab range, 5b. I'll have to try when I get extend.. Uh, it's actually worse than that now; 5C -> 5D was even on block in CS2, but now that 5C is only a level 3 attack, 5C -> 5D is -2 on block. I would not recommend doing this predictably at all.
Errol Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hmm. I remembered the other nice thing about CS1. 623A CH combos.
pktazn Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Tried out Unlimited Tsubaki to see her new distortion and man... I wish it was with regular Tsu. The possiblitiessssss~ Especially as an air combo finisher.
MikelAL93 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Tried out Unlimited Tsubaki to see her new distortion and man... I wish it was with regular Tsu. The possiblitiessssss~ Especially as an air combo finisher. I will second this for great justice! I wish all of the new distortions for Unlimited mode will be for the normal modes for all characters. It would be cool that way.
pktazn Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 They'd have to be rebalanced before they give any of the new distortions any character haha. Ah well, I can dream. I don't mind her the way she is now, it works~ Random info: Unlimited Tsu sucks (as expected) especially since it seems like it's her CS1 version with shiny new toys and faster charging. Thought it was kinda cool though that if you push D after using a special you get one charge back.

shad0whiei Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) Yay ordersol mechanix lol My defense is trash btw lol I need to learn to block. Scrubby kids on ranked cs2 ruined me >< Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk Edited February 18, 2012 by shad0whiei
Shruikon Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Got to play more EX a couple nights ago. Finally got Mugen combos down since I was having way too much trouble with double quarter circles. Would get it like 40% of the time if that? Tried it using the analogue stick for the motion only and I get it like 90% of the time. No idea why either since input display shows I was doing the correct input with d-pad. Oh well. Just need to get used to using it more in matches now. Looking forward to getting my copy this week and being able to spend hours in training mode and maybe getting to netplay against some good connections
Errol Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 only thing I can think of is, if you're actually getting all the inputs.. Too slow.. Or you're not hitting it during the cancel window.
redsilversnake Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 ASW is fucking dead to me. You guys have fun with your abused girlfriend of a character, I'm gonna go play games made by people who know what the fuck they're doing.
pktazn Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Cammy is cool~ Why Sako stop playing Cammy for Ibuki? (I like his Ibuki too lol) *remembers what thread this is* Just like how Tsubaki is cool... Oh yea before I forget again, is there a lot you can do after FC 6A? I keep trying stuff out, and I know it's not as good as FC 3C, but I'd like an idea just in case I get it other than the usual 6A > 5CC > 6BB > 236C > 214 C > 22C. Unless that really is the best option haha.
Kiba Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) The best option is: 6A FC > 5CC > 6CC > 236C > 214A > (Dash if not in corner) 5C > 2C > 236C > 214C > 22B If you have one stock, you can do, 6A FC > 5CC > 6CC > 214D > 2CC > IAD j.CC > 5C > 2CC > 236B > 214B > 22B That's all you can do really. I tried adding more drives to the attacks but the damage dealt is not exactly, efficient, and severely prorates the combo. If you go for Mugen after the 6CC, you can't do a full IAD combo, you'd have to end with the air combo. Edited February 20, 2012 by Kiba
redsilversnake Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Like SF yea? Well, GL. Thanks for the post! Fighting games in general have been leaving a bitter taste in my mouth for a while. KoF's netcode is shit, I can't play GG worth a damn, I can't play most of my other games with anyone, BB somehow has a knack to piss me off even though no other FG does, and I find myself completely unable to improve in any significant way. Sorry to act like Star-Demon, but the one goddamn character I actually got decent with having everything but damage taken from her isn't exactly sitting well for me. Especially since things were actually looking encouraging, between the discussions here and the match vids posted (including your own). But no, I pick up the game and am forced to remember how much I fail at this genre, and that the only reason I did a half-decent job in the last installment was because Tsubaki had some good, pretty easy to use shit that over-shone the weaknesses that weren't addressed. Well, fine, fuck it, I'll either kick character loyalty to the curb and switch characters or just drop multi-player. Like a wannabe boss. Again, really sorry for the drama, I'm just pissed off right now. Ignore me and my bullshit if you like.
Shruikon Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 only thing I can think of is, if you're actually getting all the inputs.. Too slow.. Or you're not hitting it during the cancel window. Maybe. I can get it really consistently with the analog stick tho so I'll just get used to using that instead.
Kiba Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Cammy is cool~ Why Sako stop playing Cammy for Ibuki? (I like his Ibuki too lol) Sako is my favourite SF player :3. Sako is hype. That is really the only time I get hype. Oh snap -Remembers some Blanka player- Uh, er hem.... My only advice to you is that Tsubaki now requires requires just a little more work so try and presevere with her if you can and overcome your weaknesses otherwise you're gonna let them continue to drag you down. And thanks. If we all here can do it, I don't see why you can't. If you've been trying for so long though and it's not working, the yes like you said, it may be better for you to use another character. I stick with Tsubaki because she'll always be my girl. She's fun and she's creative. Any nerfs to her won't phase me haha. When I first saw CS1, she was the only character the caught my attention until a wild Valk appeared. Edited February 20, 2012 by Kiba
Errol Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Ragna forums are that way ------> Seriously, play gundam. That game is really good. Capcom so GDLK The way I like to look at Tsubaki being nerfed is that, they wanted to change the way the character played, and didn't intend for her to redefine T tier. Particularly braindead 236C spamming, of course, that doesn't explain all the other stuff. CSEX2 should be nice. Kiba, you really think mugen is too good? I forgot that BJ's 11k damage combo was with two gold bursts. 5 charge mugen into 6 or 7k damage doesn't even seem too good to me. Don't bloodkain combos hit that without any of the downsides...or some combos from other characters that use 2 DD/rapids?
Shruikon Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 5 charge mugen combos are hilarious but imo shouldn't really be used too often when 1 charge mugen combos give like 4k damage midscreen iirc and even more depending on starter.
Errol Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Maybe. I can get it really consistently with the analog stick tho so I'll just get used to using that instead. If you don't want to go stick you might consider a fightpad. It seems like a good option if you're going to bother using analog instead of the dpad.. the fightpad dpads are kinda like an analog with a shorter throw. Both are closer to stick anyway..

No, I was just gonna use the analog for double quarters and stick to the d-pad for everything else still. I really don't have any money to throw around buying sticks or pads anyway tbh.
