[CP1.1] Tsubaki Yayoi General - Gameplay Discussion

On a sidenote but useful all the same, I've begun using 5B where I would use 5C in a combo extender scenario such as

Corner

Throw > 6CC > 236C > 5B > 2C > 236C > 214C > 22B

This basically eliminate the need for you to time the 5C > 2C low enough that the 236C > 214C > 22B ender will connect. This works because 5B is slower than 5C and it doesn't launch as high as 5C.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Thanks for the tip. Might come in handy :3

Can it also happen to lead to more options that you can do afterwards since it does come out slower than 5C? I guess kinda like a frametrap or is it just another option to use? (Which I don't mind haha)

Not in the scenarios that I mentioned.

If you're looking for frame traps in that situation you're better off doing it off intentional whiffed 22B where you can meaty 5A them in the face after they neutral tech while making it look like you're still in whiff move delay.

5B is great for stuff many back dashes and setting up meatys though because of it range, active frames and all the stuff you can gatling into from there.

i cant believe ive only just realised how valid 5b is in the corner, it really makes my opponent behave themselves, and like u say bat, the chains u can do of it makes it really good

No one has any other good scenarios for resets and etc?

I don't think this really counts as a 'reset', but I've had a ton of luck with it lately, and it's so good that I caught Kuresu using it in one of his matches. :P

236C (Hit) > Throw. It generally comes out green as well, unless they're crouching/CH'd or you spaced it really well. Particularly useful on those hits where you're not sure if you could combo off it anyway, but even if you could have, a throw prorates slightly better than 236C, and you'll get 1300 more damage than you would've by just comboing off the 236C.

So, from Chrono Phantasma, we get the new Tsubaki dark outfit. She also has a different voice and a new distortion.

J.214X looks like it may have new properties too. She didn't bounce off the opponent like EX, she just dived down with them. Since everyone seems to have their bar divided into 4 parts like Jin, she may have cool additions.

Looks like it'll be fun~

I'm pretty sure her voice actress is the same she just sounds more "evil" now for plot though haha.

Why am I excited for blazblue again

Dang it this wasn't supposed to happen

I feel the same way Heidi.

Honestly, I think we're all just excited to have BB3 finally after 2 revisions of the same game(one which was retail for no real good reason).

I hope Evil Tsubaki isn't just a cosmetic change and she'll have moves/pressure to fit her new persona. Also, if they somehow fit in a raging demon kind of thing in there for her as a homage to evil versions of capcom characters, it'd be fantastic.

As long as she has D moves that are FREAKING PLUS ON BLOCK, SERIOUSLY I'm pretty okay with anything they do

At least we still have our fast 5C, yay for not spotting a nerf yet I guess? :V

And her install bar doesn't have segments...for some reason.

Well, in the storymode of the last game she went totally blind, so I'm not sure how exactly she uses Izayoi anymore. Maybe they changed the way it functions to match that.

Pretty much this. It's an actual sequel now instead of "just another update."

The raging demon is in her Astral calling it. Wish we had a few more seconds of her new stuff but since loketests are soon it's not so bad. I wonder if all her effects for her are just purple now though or it still changes depending on the version.

This, for the love of bob!

Also, I didn't get the sense that Izayoi NEEDED to suck the light out of people to work, just that it did so as a consequence of working. i.e. Nuclear radiation causes cancer, but it doesn't need to cause cancer in order to generate electricity. :P

I dislike charge moves so it's good she only has one.

I'm curious as to what move that is though. Curious about the half circle back C as well.

For the new DD, I can't tell if they're making an indication of you having to be in mugen state to use it so I'm guessing it's good for anytime which would be great.

Any news about possible changes to her charge system now that she no longer has sections off in her charge meter you can make out, Audrina?

For her overdrive it sounds like she has a second install now. I can't make out the details but that's what's written in Katakana that would be related to what you're asking. Overdrive btw thanks to Zephyr:

about overdrive:

- it increases your native strength. It fills up over time, then when its full you can activate it.

- at low health it lasts longer, and will freeze time when used

- each chara has their own overdrive

Pulling this over here because it doesn't really seem relevant to Loktest discussion:

I understand the point of the 'threat' of the command grab, but in high level play, I almost never see Hazama's command grab landed or even attempted. This, to me, means there's no good reason for an opponent to be afraid of it. My presumption is that since it's a 12 frame startup that's not strike invulnerable, AND if you land it remotely near to someone being in blockstun you get a purple grab, plus the very short range means that it's not worth it to high level players to represent this move except as a "haha, gotcha, I bet you weren't expecting THAT crappy move" sort of maneuver. Hazama has so many ways to spend his 50 heat > Jayoku that this one doesn't seem to be relevant. This is of course all subjective and based on watching way too many videos.
