C0R Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Multi-hit attacks are guaranteed IBs. If someone is not IB'ing the second hit, then they are screwing up. In the other hand, if you see the IB flash, then it most likely means that the opponent will try to use a reversal. So you can just bait it by doing nothing. It's kinda weird that you can cancel it into 6C but not a special move. Then again, canceling into 6C is a much more safer option than special canceling into SoD or DP lol. Interestingly enough there are some multi-hit attacks that don't apply the normal system mechanic, a good example would be Legacy Edge or Steel Rain. 6b is one of those moves.
Tecta1Eastside Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 you can still make 6b safe if you do it during 236d oki and with rapid cancels but raw 6b's that are IB blocked on the 2nd will be punished now. I think thats a big change since its not that hard to IB the 2nd hit of 6b even on netplay so i should be easier offline. Ppl that cant block 6b though will still eat about 3k midscreen and over 3k in the corner
Moy_X7 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Normal system mechanic? You mean how most normals can be special canceled?

Lord Pwnge18 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Now seems like a great time if any to post this
bakahyl Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) Well like i said a few pages ago, the 6b > 6c (even the old 5c > 6c string could get get interupted by reversals)string seems unsafe against certain characters. Ignoring reversals , moves with projectile invinciblity like any of the sledge hammers will make our overhead unsafe on block unless you can do something with the stein cancel after 6b (like jumping or using your dp). Eventhough i have no idea how many frames we have to do all of this or if it's even works. Edited December 24, 2012 by bakahyl
C0R Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 6b Stein set jumpcancel block is only punishable by 7f moves or faster, 10 on ib, Asledge has a startup of 20f, far too slow to catch drive cancel. The only guaranteed punish to 6b outside of reversals and supers is, to my knowledge Valkenhayn's 6a on instant block.
Zeromus_X Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Do we know the frame advantage for 6B (1)? Maybe 6B (1) > stein > jump cancel if we know the opponent will block it can work, but then you miss a combo opportunity if you don't hitconfirm.
C0R Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 It's based on the attack level of 6b, which has remained at 4 for the entirety of CS, though they could've changed it.
Tecta1Eastside Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) http://youtu.be/bN2ZWnN4hOo?t=5m16s here's what 6b stein cancel looks like http://youtu.be/bN2ZWnN4hOo?t=5m2s here's what 6b(1) stein cancel looks like on hit Havent found what it looks like on block and for ppl that are oki based u-12 players the 1hr video is filled with interesting set-ups. I posted all the matches from it in the video thread There Labeled as 12/19/12. I dont know the guy's name. I found some new stuff about the u-12 vs hakumen MU. http://youtu.be/BEniQaoP9Hg?t=6m42s IB hakumen's 3c leads into 5c<6c IKutachi combo for over 3k now. he dropped it though but you all get the idea http://youtu.be/BEniQaoP9Hg?t=7m2s Getting hit by hakumen's 2d counter leads into massive damage when hakumen has meter Getting hit by hakumen's CH 3c still sucks when he has meter http://youtu.be/BEniQaoP9Hg?t=7m51s Edited December 25, 2012 by Tecta1Eastside

Nemesis Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I found some new stuff about the u vs hakumen MU. ......How do you mean?
Tecta1Eastside Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 ......How do you mean? us versus hakumen is a little different now. stop trolling lol u knew i meant u-12 vs hakumen not u vs hakumen
Lord Pwnge18 Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I'm sorry, but this is driving me insane u != µ
Nemesis Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I am serious fcking confused now µ vs hakumen MU -- like what? u knew i meant u-12 vs hakumen not u vs hakumen
C0R Posted December 25, 2012 Author Posted December 25, 2012 I am serious fcking confused now µ vs hakumen MU -- like what? MU is normally shorthand for Matchup.
C0R Posted December 25, 2012 Author Posted December 25, 2012 It's not an uncommon abbreviation at all, really. About as obscure as OH attack.
pochp Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 6b Stein set jumpcancel block is only punishable by 7f moves or faster, 10 on ib, Asledge has a startup of 20f, far too slow to catch drive cancel. The only guaranteed punish to 6b outside of reversals and supers is, to my knowledge Valkenhayn's 6a on instant block. Is that assuming sein set -> jump cancel speed hasn't changed? 6b stein DP should beat it then, it would also be useful against fast supers (ashura, valk ground super, jayoku, hexa edge...) that would be guaranteed, as you could stein set jump and cancel into DP on superflash.
Tecta1Eastside Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Only bad thing is we dont know exact frame data yet. We just video proof of 6b being punished by 5a and hakumen 3c
Nemesis Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 So wait let me get this straight - your saying 6b on block - we have enough time to stein cancel into a dp before shit like hotenjin can hit us... Even if they are mashing like mad?
pochp Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 level 4 move = 18f blockstun, stein can be canceled on 21st frame. so that's a 3f gap before you can go into dp, 6 on IB. I'm not actually sure how that would work against jayoku on IB, but it looks good on normal block.
Tecta1Eastside Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Merry Christmas my fellow Mu players. :3 thanks and merry christmas to you and everyone else. I finish adding the new set of matches in the vid thread.
