Kenji-Koto Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I wonder why the slaver super isn't used as much. I know that the sword is a better reversal, but slaver would just seem to help her mixup giving block stun. Is it that the prorate is bad or that they don't want to spend her drive meter on it?

Is it that the prorate is bad or that they don't want to spend her drive meter on it? the prorate is excellent, its literally free hits. I think the char is just underdeveloped. And yeah 4 meter cost is sorta steep too, but i think youll see it more in the future. Activation is really really fast.
Surf Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I know its been said 623C isnt really a DP. But either it indeed does have a very small amount of invul frames, or it just comes out really really freaking fast. Or it could be both.

Or it could be both. just guessing, but im under the impression that its head and body invin. It might be slight startup > full body invin too but i doubt that a lot. edit: yeah, stuff > 623C sjB jC jD seems to be safe jump setup, and sets up for highlow with airdash. wheeee Edited January 23, 2013 by not_lunaris
Nemesis Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) So Ive heard (and I remember reading mori intended) Izayoi is supposed to be "easy", but quite frankly I dont even know what this even means... I watch plently and plently of Izayoi vids to get a good feel for her character -- not to mention she is just fun to watch (<3 that theme). Shes a mode change char -- needs to develop her stars (even tho she also gets heat) her gameplay does seem pretty rushdown/projectile but I am not getting this easy feel at all. It seems far easier to lose with Izayoi than some might suggest... maybe I am just crazy though I know its been said 623C isnt really a DP. But either it indeed does have a very small amount of invul frames, or it just comes out really really freaking fast. Or it could be both. Having watched that particular video myself like tons of times already I was honestly wondering the same thing ...as a proto-murakumo i kinda feel like i should pick her up... (*debate*) although Im really convinced this thread will explode near release date~ arent there already lot of ppl who are gonna main Izayoi? (anyone actually?) Edited January 24, 2013 by Nemesis

Mori said that Izayoi is supposed to be the easiest of the new characters to pick up. But yeah, according to Stunedge/Ho-chan, she's not really that easy. Very few Izayois we've seen have done well, and the JP BB community seems to regard her as pretty weak.
Nemesis Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 ah well thats good news for me then (I mean in terms of probability of learning the char - not being crazy) I enjoy learning and playing what I consider to be more difficult characters (while maintaining that aesthetic appeal) while she might not have that raw power mu-12 can whip out or the suppression from nu-13 when things go well -- Izayoi does seem to have mixups in her favor?
Arifureta Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I know its been said 623C isnt really a DP. But either it indeed does have a very small amount of invul frames, or it just comes out really really freaking fast. Or it could be both. That might just be because of the delay on the active frames of Nu's C parser.
Airk Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Mori said that Izayoi is supposed to be the easiest of the new characters to pick up. But yeah, according to Stunedge/Ho-chan, she's not really that easy. Mori has also been confirmed as not always being very good at matching his intentions with his results. Right now, it seems like Azrael and Bullet are MUCH easier to 'pick up and play' effectively - certainly, they're both significantly LESS complicated than she is, and complexity tends to tie directly to learning curve. You're not. Very few Izayois we've seen have done well, and the JP BB community seems to regard her as pretty weak. Yeah. I pop in here occasionally hoping to see someone really pulling out cool stuff, but so far she seems to be struggling. Good job, Mori-san.
Isuna Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 As I was a Hakumen player, I have a hard time with the short hitstun for Izayoi. Also, the fact that the teleport follow-up for ground moves is 6D and not any D like for the air attacks, is really not noob-friendly. Having mode changes isn't helping either, and the change to the moveset (especially dash). Trans-am being like only 5 seconds, makes it also not forgiving. Regarding 623C, maybe it has head invulnerability, but I doubt body. I'm pretty sure I have been hit by a 5A or the like, but I could be wrong.

It may just be what Arifureta said, in that Nu's active hitbox probably just wasn't out yet. Even if it has invul or not, the move is extremely fast.
Shen Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Poor Tsubaki, even in her super-mode she still isn't very good. Maybe she'll get better once people get used to playing against her and she can start applying proper mindgames with her teleports? I figured there was a reason besides combos they gave her a teleport that doesn't move.
Surf Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I just think shes not as broke as people were expecting her to be. But yea, we havnt really seen her true potential yet either.
skd Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 i think shes strong, but severely underdeveloped!
Surf Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 i think shes strong, but severely underdeveloped! Same. We'll have to wait until console for things to be flushed out some more
Nemesis Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) i think shes strong, but severely underdeveloped! well heres hoping you will flush out that potential not_lunaris (do I really call you that?) if you dont mind my asking, why did they decide to make you the izayoi mod? are you planning to be #1 psr/rank izayoi like you "apparently" did with good ol rags? >_< I wish i could get a sense of your play or skill -- have you been uploaded on youtube at all? oh your SKD -- ahh Edited January 27, 2013 by Nemesis
ElegantShadow Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Hey, I was thinking of having Izayoi as one of my subs in CP, but I'm not sure if she's the type of character I think she is. Could someone maybe explain some of her Pros and Cons to me? [i know it may be a tad early to be asking this since the game isn't even out yet, but it's something I've been wondering for quite a while now.]

[i know it may be a tad early to be asking this since the game isn't even out yet, but it's something I've been wondering for quite a while now.] Its sorta early, but as a whole her normals are sorta slow/awkward to work with. She has a normal mode where she pretty much spaces and plays neutral with projectiles / anti air to build stocks, then burn them for confirming/creating strong mixups. Her damage is pretty solid.

Ah, I see, so she's kind of like Arakune in the sense that she plays passively until her bar is full then destroys the opponent?
