I personally love #R, so I don't mind Xrd being similar. I also don't get the notion that the balance in that game is "terrible" -- it's not great compared to AC and Slash, but it's pretty passable compared to a lot of other games (even recent games). Most of the cast is still viable, and while there is some stupid shit in the game, I don't think it's game breaking.

I'm really hoping there will be limits on when you can and cannot YRC, though, for the afore-mentioned reasons.

Honestly it's a lot more like everyone's getting DOT. I'm assuming you're not going to see a lot of high or low projectiles, so it's just going to be more characters that become super-threatening at half meter (Since I assume time-freeze is going to lead to some "If you weren't already blocking, you can't block" type things.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole "time-slowing" thing is nothing like how it sounds and then all of your cries will have been for nothing, you ungrateful babies.

I don't really care about the timeslow, outside of "I BLOCKED THAT DAMN IT BUT LOLTIMESLOW." I imagine it'll look pretty cool, and the standardish RC mixups will be as shenanigans as they've ever been. The timeslow will just make it easier for people watching to tell what's going on.

Mixed feelings on this one. Everything being RCable on whiff waters down the game, in my opinion. But that time slow RC sounds like it could be very interesting. Also, nothing confirmed on the FRC's yet, but they better be in. No FRC no buy!

It says that time slows for everything but you when you RC. I find it hard to imagine that wouldn't result in you being slower to block.

Don't know what to make out of this whole "time stoppin` RCs" mumbo-jumbo. I'll have to see it in action before making any comments.

It's time slow, not input delay. At least that's what i get out of it. Say if you walk forward during time slow, you still are moving on the frame that you hit 6, but you just move slower. With attacks, you're move starts as soon as you hit the button, but the frame duration of the move has been increased making it longer. I imagine that the 3D will make it so the slowed animation doesn't look choppy and crap.

I'm assuming time slow wouldn't affect blocking, by assumption is that the opposing player's actions would be slowed (so basically displaying some or all frames twice). I don't like the thought about how this will potentially nullify reversals however...

There are multiple, fun, ways to interpenetrate this sentence.

Aside from that, let's wait till the loketests. They didn't describe much at all here. Plus, it's always possible that they're going to put in and test mechanics piecemeal.

Just for clarification, the reason I feel it would be a simplification of FRCs is because there are a ton (if not most) of FRCs that could have a larger window and still have the same general effect. So if the newbie could be a bit sloppy and still get a minor combo off, say, Robo 5h or chemical love I think that is good. I'm sure there would still be points that are better for optimization of mixups or combos as well.

But again, this could just be something for projectiles and they could be removing non-projectile FRCs completely which would make me a good bit sad.

I think FRCs as we know them from the XX series are being removed to make the game less , dare I say, "intimidating" to new players? And Slashbacks are probably gone because no one really used them, as far as I remember. Bit sour about the loss of Force Breaks though, as I loved Faust's Force Breaks. (Admittedly, I just love the character, so I probably won't feel too much of a difference.)

As long as my doctor is still in the house, I'll be very happy. :)

Just give Potemkin a new move called Slashback, since he was the only character to use it.

But yeah, this new and hip Roman Cancel sounds...strange. Not in a bad way, I just can't picture it. Can't wait for hands on next week to see if its something to get hyped about/worried about.

The first thought that came to mind when I saw her was "dat Russian hat" lol

I don't know, maybe she looks good in her artwork but then looks derpy in-game. Just like what you said about Bullet lol.
