I don't know about other characters, but he can already growler on reaction to swords. Seeing as they've reduced his startup and moved all of Nu's priorities/overheads to projectile moves, this MU is going to be fun as hell come 2.0. I honestly don't mind how he is. Smart Azraels do more than growler anyway and I don't enjoy playing the ones that rely on it. I don't see much changing.

Azrael losing Growler will probably kill him, or at least do considerable damage. I'm really annoyed that this is a thing, though I can always hope this is some silliness that doesn't stay (it's not like all changes from all previous loketests stayed after all, I remember one loketest for a BB game where Jin threw 2-3 swords on 236C or something like that).

This is the single funnest thing I have seen on this thread today.

It should still work against projectile okis + you can cancel the (invincible) absorbing animation to Phalanx. The faster they make it's startup, the sooner people'll start eating Phalanxes.

I wonder if Azrael will still gain full invul as he absorbs projectiles with Growler.  Because if it's just extended projectile invul, people with projectile oki can actually punish him now for eating George/Sickle/etc instead of tailoring their oki for that one move. Decreased start-up time with only projectile invul seems odd though, maybe the projectile catch occurs earlier so Azrael can catch more projectiles on reaction instead of prediction?  Not his only move when under pressure though, so I don't think it's that big a nerf to Azrael players IMO.

Makoto being able to cancel lvl2 D moves sounds cool.  With her parry being a special move now, it could lead to silly blockstrings where the opponent thinks it's safe to punish a 5D done on block, but then "Space Counter"!

I want vids of Nu and Lambda so baaad right now.

Sorry, do you mean the move with Guardpoint with 40 frames startup, or the other one with 27 frames startup and is -26?

In a game where guardpoint moves are virtually non-existent among most of the cast. Yes I would agree, that would be tons.

Am I actually reading people complaining about the guard point on 236D? I'm just done. Whatever.

I think Growler losing absorbing invincibility would be silly but we won't know until lokes.

Actually, I would like one change to growler now that I think about it.  Don't let the damn game slow down when he absorbs multiple hits. The whole pace of the match shouldn't change if he absorbs multi-hit moves. He's invincible to everything and I can't even move. We're both at a loss when it comes to what to do next because we're sitting in a slideshow.

Thats also just how characters like azrael have been designed. Look at slayer, there are plenty of moves with invul at like the middle of the move

Backdash cancel FTW

It's highly possible, but something could be tweaked to take a little load off of its exclusive console...I would hope.

Speaking about slowdowns, it always seems to be the fault of projectiles like Tempest Dahlia or Yata no Kagami when those appear on the screen. It gets even worse when these things get absorbed by growler

I said most....

But I was only really counting normals and specials since damn near every super has some kind of invunl anyway. In that regard Tager only has his bolt charge and 6A and only the 6A has any real gain if it hits. Azrael has at least 3 and can do pretty stupid things from all of them pretty much.

Any moves that cause a billion clashes or hits can slow the game down, along with multiple dustortion/OD effects. If Relius or Carl make a clash war happen with duo bios/rhapsody of memories, the game will slow down. For Relius' vinum glitch, you hit OD after landing a grounded vinum on a crouching opponent and it slows down veeeeeeery slowly, along with making the untech stupid lol

You mean how 236D/214D with no weakpoint goes into absolutely nothing? The only reason why I even agree that he should lose them is because they're so bad that I'd prefer if they remove my temptation to find any sort of reasonable use for them.

What about Kagura's throw? That thing always slows the ps3 down.
