-Story will be explained in a better way (previous games were obscure and without much explanation).

More deets, less shady technobabble? Yes please.

Can't wait to hear how Xrd changed from the first loketest to the second. Also excited to see Axl n' everyone else in action, hopefully he'll have those sweet #R corner Axl Bomber loops like the good ol' days!

No but seriously, super excited. Kinda scared about this "smaller roster" quote but ehh, it's still GG. Even if they don't manage to squeeze everyone in there I'm still all for it lol.

I read the fewer characters statement not as "We decided to retire these characters permanently" but as "We don't have enough time to put in everyone, so a few characters got low priority and won't be joining the cast until DLC and/or an update".

I guess it's time to stop slacking off on learning Zappa for me

As much as I'd want Zappa in, the phrase about the other characters receiving no major changes throughout the series scares me with Zappa since his Sword mechanics have changed in each version. In #R there was no sword lag, in AC (maybe Slash) they added sword lag, and in AC+R ...well I'm sure you've seen it now. But I hope he is what they believe as the quintessential "unusual" character and returns in Xrd...

A question: If they decide to make one of the new characters an obvious walking reference to BlazBlue, what BB characters, or rather the gameplay concepts/mechanics/styles behind them, can be naturally converted to Guilty Gear mechanics without much trouble?

Obviously, not counting the ones that were heavily inspired by GG in the first place, like I-am-not-Vampire!Sol Ragna.

They can give Relius playstyle to Paradigm. Paradigm is weak on his own, so he can rely on summon to do whole dirty work for him. And to make it more unique, he can use different summons - one for pressure (like Relius), other for zoning etc.

http://ggxrd.com/character/

Axl and I-no have been added, though with no command lists yet. Also there is an empty slot that says "comming soon" (presumably the other character to be in the next loketest) and then there is text that says "And more...".

Also, I should probably mention that I neglected to mention the "other" character(s) planned for the loketest is planned to be an old character because I could not immediately recognise the kanji for old and the rest of sentence without the "old" part would be completely redundant because it would just be "planned/scheduled to be a character". So yes, we still have no new character in the game.

Hopefully none. God forbid Ishiwatari decides to keep GG its own thing, right guys?

So, the base is #reload? Shall we boot up #reload then?

As someone else brought up, it'll probably help as much as playing +R.

Damn, I sure hope that other character is Faust...

Either way ill be at the next loketest on Nov 2nd

Eddie still hasn't had a gameplay reveal yet,and he was confirmed since the first trailer.I'm putting my money on him.

Maybe he gets new summons in Xrd.

Dunno if the interview goes into more detail, but in the stage event, it sounds like Ishiwatari isn't saying characters will get cut, but that including all of them will be difficult, so for now, they're prioritizing a balance of "who's interesting to play" and "who's popular among players." So, as others have said, he doesn't seem like he's precluding any post-release additions, just being upfront about the practicalities of development.

If were looking at characters based on popularity and unique play style alone, I think the characters most likely to come back next are Dizzy, Testament, ABA, Baiken, Zapppa, Eddie, and Faust.

Dizzy is a fairly important character, and there's actual concept artwork of her in Xrd, so she's very likely.

Testament's been in the game's from the get go, and his frightening zoning scares all who have played him in Guilty Gear

ABA is probably the most unique fighter game character period, and she had such a strong fan base, she went from spin off character to main series character.

Baiken already has pretty strong fanbase, and like Testament, she's been around since the first game.

Faust is a unique character, who also has been in the game from the get go, and I believe his fighting style influenced Teddie heavily in Persona 4 Arena.

Eddie was shown in the first trailer, and story wise, we can't have Millia Rage without her arch nemesis.

And Zappa has existing concept artwork in Xrd, and also one of the most versatile and unique fighting styles in Guilty Gear.

You're forgetting Jam. Lotta people love some Jam with there Guilty Gear. Hell, might as well just list every character. Is there actually a character that we wouldn't want back?

.... Yes I want Leopaldon....

The characters that are least likely to make a come back, are probably Justice, Kliff, Order Sol, and Robo-Ky.

I'd put Anji up there also as an Anji main. He doesn't seem that popular in Japan from videos and his playstyle isn't really unique or special. Then again I would have counted May out based on playstyle but they made her much more interesting imo in Xrd so who knows.

May is their loli, you can't have a airdasher fighting game without a loli. It's mathemeatically impossible. In unrealted news, I-NO's ass expanded a ton, and I'm still curious as to how she'll play. I mean as I mentioned earlier, without FRCs in the game, she will probably need some adjustments won't she? I have a friend who says he really wants to pick up I-NO, and usually I try not to play the same characters as other players in my scene because it's small enough as it is, having two people playing the same character makes it feel even smaller, but I am interested since I've never really tried to play I-No since I've never had a stick and playing her on pad seemed like WAY to much work for me. I think I'll try her this time, if not her then Millia or May. So many choices.
