mAceOfHearts Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 There seems to be a distinct lack of people bitching about the single worst part of this game. Unblockable anti-airs are the most annoying god damn things ever. Why am I the only one frustrated by this BS? This only bothers me with moves that hit low. (Tager's 5B is the one that gets me every time.) I'm also annoyed that Valkenhayn's 5C is air unblockable, while his 6C isn't. Oh, and moves with low invincibility, like Jin's 6B and Taokaka's 6B. I think Platinum has one as well, and one with a very deceptive animation to boot. (I could've sworn I landed that 2A, but apparently not.)
mAc Chaos Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Unblockable AAs is actually a recent development that was a huge improvement to the game. Before that everybody would just jump out of blockstrings nonstop.
Nemesis Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 ^ srsly this.... else all we would see is jump jump jump jump jump bs
Errol Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 people already jump a lot. certainly don't need to give people more reason to jump. Still, hakumen 5a AUB is a little annoying.
Kenrou.Horo Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Air unblockables would be fine if I didn't use pad :V The amount of times I intend to barrier, but only one of the buttons registers, is insane. And so, there I am, randomly flipping in the air or seeming like I'm mashing out blockstrings and getting hit :/ Either I need a bigger thumb or need to bind AB to one of the shoulder buttons. I'm too lazy for the latter xD.
ReynTime180 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 And one of the reasons they're air unblockable is because it's an anti-air. It's supposed to get you- in the air. You gotta barrier those. Narcowski Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Unblockable anti-airs are the most annoying god damn things ever. Why am I the only one frustrated by this BS? Air-unblockable ground normals are a great thing, and not unique to BB - Melty Blood does the same thing with no barrier to get around being guardcrushed. They make chicken-guarding an unattractive, amongst other things.
Myoro Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Personally I love unblockables in general, They add a whole new necessary layer to mixups and mindgames. Without them, defending would be a mindless thing. As a Relius, air unblockabes are vital to getting damage becuse one can reset into combos from certain situations. Plus there's the whole thing that if you're barrier guarding, it's marginally harder to react to an air grab. I still think air defending is easier though. ground defense is: High vs low vs grab and left vs right (and now, with crush trigger, unblockables too) Air defense is more a game of: air unblockable vs grab (although in situations like grounded tao vs areal tager, left and right is a factor too.)
ReynTime180 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 When people play music into the microphones. It's unnecessary.
Kenrou.Horo Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) When people use rare and obscure characters like Arakune or Carl. When I'm fighting them, I'm just like "WAKARIMASEN :vbang:" Edited October 17, 2013 by Kenrou.Horo
Konflyk Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 When people play music into the microphones. It's unnecessary. B-but I want you to hear my hip-hop music Reyn On topic, people who quit after 1 L or get mad and kick you from a room amongst friends because they salty...then again I kind of enjoy the tears
ReynTime180 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 B-but I want you to hear my hip-hop music Reyn I don't want to hear your hipity-hopity musics, I like my metal \m/. And that's the thing, everyone has different tastes in music and in general, unless I ask you to, it's just distracting and disturbing to the rest of the room.
Devdan Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Denjin Haouken and Stungun Headbutt. Those aren't supers, they're gimmicky crutches. I especially don't get why some otherwise good players use them. It's like, pick a real super? ...oh right, Blazblue, yeah it's been a while. Lag Tagers (so, all Tagers), and Ragna players who start every match with hell's fang, even if it gets stuffed every time. (so, most Ragna players)
blackraen Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 My biggest pet-peeve is how nobody state-side is ever playing while I am. I work a shift that's aligned with JPN hours from the US west coast so I get stuck with crappy 0 bar connections if I want to play online. Hoping that at least during CP there will be some hardcore night-owls for a few weeks in the US lobbies.

Moy_X7 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 lol at people complaining about AUBs. Chicken blocking awl dei was one of the reasons why CT was such a horrible game. And so, there I am, randomly flipping in the air or seeming like I'm mashing out blockstrings and getting hit :/ Either I need a bigger thumb or need to bind AB to one of the shoulder buttons. I'm too lazy for the latter xD. Sir, it takes less than 3 seconds to bind AB to a shoulder button. I know I'm lazy but goddamn, you can't be that lazy. It only gets worse by the way, if you don't Barrier to stop yourself from dashing correctly, you're going to get a random CT, I've seen some JP players do this lol.
Diamond Dust Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) I dont really mind losing, cause well I lost, oh well. But when I lose to beginner mode player...Most of them is Tager though or maybe this isn't really a pet peeve. The room gets diabanded or I get kicked before my match starts. Yeah, I ended up binding it to R1 a few days ago :V. But it's kinda pointless now, since my stick should be arriving within the week lol.
Devilpraiser Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I hate people who mash out the same thing over and over again and end up winning. But then i end up chasing them down online and own them everytime after that so it works out, but that win is what gets me really salty. Oh and winning a match and getting constant "lag switcher" messages.
Raziul Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 People who waste time picking out a song before a match. I don't once remember ever paying attention to the BGM in any match. My focus is entirely on my opponent the whole time.
mAceOfHearts Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Selecting a stage that has less lag issues than others, but skipping the intros. Just... Why?
DubiousCurvLoop Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Does skipping intros still ruins the connection? I would've thought Arc would fix that after all these years. My only pet-peeves are: - when a host kicks the next player(s) just to get a runback with the person who beat him. - When people who are marginally winning (and clearly better than their opponent) intentionally drop the kill combo to and run around the screen the entire time until time over. It's one thing if the match is close and the time is running low, if you're playing the spacing game/zoning, etc... but when you're running around with no intention to hit them, 60 seconds on the clock, 80%+ life, and opponent has pixels... are you really going to waste the whole room's time like that?
Death Wombat Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 my biggest peeves....not being able to join a player match for some stupid reason. The biggest one I have, and there's nothing I can do about it is my internet likes to shit itself from time to time. I would love to get a different provider but the only provider for my area is Frontier Communications aka Festering Bag of Regurgitated Ass! Honestly they to me are like the cable company on the "Murder Porn" episode of South Park. I'm sorry for being vulgar but they screwed me out of fun times for so long, and I feel bad for those I'm fighting when all of a sudden it shits mid fight. That's why I play at night cause at least then it can function good.....sometimes. I guess another peeve I can add is people skipping the stage intro while the connection tries to adjust to the FBoR! So if anyone in your household ever comes to you and says "Hey, I'm thinking about switching to Frontier!", you punch them in the face and tell them no! If you ever fought me online and it lagged out all of a sudden......I'm deeply sorry. I can't wait to move out and get better internet! Sincerly -DW PS If you are ever bored just go on their Facebook fan page. Their is not one happy customer.
someonewhodied Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 when people obviously lagswitch. When i know someone is a lagswitcher, I just go straight to mu and instead of playiing for real, I turn the person's lag against them with laser spam (which is hilariously unblockable in lag unless you hold block, in which case you get chipped out) but it still bothers me when someoen is obviously lagswitching. And another thing that bothers me is when people choose auto or random stage. My eyes don't handle bright stages very well (as in I see blurry, can only see general locations of players and attacks on screen, not if its a low/overhead or even a grab exclamation point) so when someone thinks its a good idea to put me on a brighter stage I generally just try to run all match and poke people to death. Not even bothering with combos.
Errol Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 when people still haven't figured out to turn off auto saving replays.
