With how Bullet's overall kit turned out to be even with the nerfs, I'm now pretty optimistic about this loketest. Even if characters lose options, there are most likely a lot of new ones waiting to be discovered. But of course, being optimistic just isn't fun for most people.

If most of these changes stay, I may as well drop BB entirely and go to P4A(U) full time. Some of the changes make no sense. In a balance, you're supposed to nerf the characters that need it (Hazama, Litchi. any other top tier) and the buff the ones that need it (Carl, Tsubaki, Makoto).

That's what's been happening soar this loke teast.

Litchi, Kokonoe and Azreal (top three) have been receiving mostly nerfs.

Hazama wasn't even top 5 (Carl was above him, and literally everyone else but the top 3 lol that's why he's getting nerfed) but he's getting completely redesigned it seems.

Some of these changes don't make sense, no, but they're  step in the right direction for the most part.

Sadly, the A nail combos seem gone. I guess off of 5C in the corner you just go for the 4seal combo route.

Ah well. Ashura is hype, D nails are faster too it seems.

>Kagura Nerfs

Who...wha-...How do people even hate this character that is barely even seen?

His only reversal is a charge move, so its not even like he can do IB > Flash Kick during block strings.

Wow these changes are garbage.  This hopefully won't be the final changes because I can't imagine many people to really like the character changes and the OD guard cancel.  This just went full marvel with the nonsense that will allow.

Celica's damage is off the hooks.

I see no problem with this 'cause I'm tots gonna use her . :v:

To be honest, 3742 meterless is rather scary for a character designed for beginners. But looking at it, most of that damage came from Minerva Car and DP portion (the latter adding 1000+ on its own). They can easily just fix those and it should be fine. And as we all know, this is just a loketest. Nothing here is definite until the game's official release.

Little thing here, but I noticed in the Celica VS Bang video that the Arcade background (Where it shows what stage you're at and who you're facing next) changed colors from blue to yellow.

We would have to know more about that starter to really form an opinion either way. For a point blank 5B/5C (which that seemed to be) it's just slightly above average, especially since the DP ender which seems to be her big damage move leaves them midscreen AND causes an air tech, which is like the worst situation for a combo ender. ~3500 meterless off a 5C midscreen is bread and butter with Ragna in 1.1 if you're close enough for a 6A after, and his comes with almost full screen corner carry, a knockdown, and a safe jump, which is way more valuable than an extra 200 damage. Noel is also in the 3000+ range off a midscreen normal starter, and even she gets a knockdown.

Balancing isn't as simplistic as you describe it. Some characters are really hard to balance and not overbuff/overnerf because of their inherent kit. If you're familiar with MOBA games, it's very similar e.g. Kassadin and Lucien in LoL. They nerfed Lucien but made one small change to one of his abilities. Reddit went crazy over it and cried over nerfs. Then when the patch came out, his win rate went up by ~5%. He was so good that they had to nerf him again.

Coming back to FGs and specifically BB, there's also a lot of limitations that so-called low tier characters have that if the limitations are removed or the numbers are overbuffed, it could completely break the fragile semi-balance that the game has. Of course as an ordinary player, you won't see that initially.

Now I'm not saying that what Arcsys is doing is making the game perfectly balanced but I am saying that we should be looking forward to an ever evolving game and not just a static, completely balanced game devoid of any disparity. Trying to reach perfect balance is good. Actually reaching it is not.

What kind of bullshit logic is this? A perfectly balanced game, while it may sound stale and static would not be. There would be checks and counters and tech against certain characters that would evolve based on what is prominent. This is, of course, that the characters are interesting/deep in the first place. You can have deep characters who are balanced at the same time, most balance teams just overcompensate, generally hitting everything at once instead of hitting the things that make them bad. In terms of buffs, they do the same and generally buff too much. Your example of LoL is quite hilarious for this reason: League is extremely poorly balanced. The balance team would rather have a quick fix nerf than fix the bigger issues with the game. See: Evelynn and her prominence with vision changes and Leblanc with her reliance on DFG.

A perfectly balanced game can be perfectly fluid in terms of metagame given that it is sufficiently deep.

Huh, haven't seen this anywhere but apparently: From Neogaf Izayoi Can't do 623b > teleport > 623b anymore. (GA) 5b > 236c > 6d > 5b doesn't combo either.

Usually it's the same build until the next loketest.

But I don't think an answer has been given for this one specifically.

That shit was hard enough already, don't give me that bs Arc.
Bastards.

It actually looks very good and fast according to this video

edit: forgot to mention that it apparently is called Over Drive Raid on the screen

I'm not really familiar with Koko - is the blockstring that got GCOD'd 2b > 5c? If so, GCOD looks like it could currently be 1+15 (like normal activation) if it's getting the 5c to whiff.

League has piss poor balancing because of the very fact that it listens and weighs in heavily the opinion of the general mass. If enough people cry about it, they nerf it. That's exactly what Arcsys shouldn't be doing. Let the balance team figure it out and stop whining. And ok if you think my logic is bullshit, that's fine. But do you disagree with my main point that balancing a game is not as simple as nerfing the strong and buffing the weak?
