Hopefully, Optic Barrel can actually be used as a new link in combos more consistently. That would give us another move to tack on damage, and could make for some midscreen mix-ups and somewhat of a zoning game against those not named Tager. Please give us CS1 loketest Optic Barrels.
Sahgren Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 One thing I'm wondering about is just how much 4k mid-screen is compared to the rest of the cast, since there's supposed to be a general damage nerf across the board (outside of corners). Is the 4k a huge leap above everyone else, or just 200-300 dmg extra?

Considering CS1 non-haida loop mid-screen averaged at about 3.5~4k with a 5D or 3C, 4k+ in a supposedly damaged nerfed game is pretty powerful. Since we now have 6A again, the thing to look for now is the average damage Noel can deal with 5A,2A, or 2B>6A starters. If her normals buff to where I can spam 5A again, then I'll be doing so.

Though if she does end up as S tier i admit i would lol for a week straight

Another thing I can almost guarantee is that nobody here has seen me on BBCS because my PS3 had an aneurysm and died 5 months ago so I have to constantly practice CS on a friend's PS3 or at Press Start Games (I love their "Take as much time as you want" policy). If I ever established any sort of reputation or name for myself, it was back in BBCT where the net code rocked and let me actually pull off Haidas and stuff proficiently. ANYWAYS enough about that, I wanted to come here to LokeTest change thread to post my analysis of CS2 Noel. Do note that it might not be the best just because I look at it from my own perspective and I tend to work with any and all character changes because I suffer from MLC (Main Loyalty Complex) and I'm highly adaptive. So now that I've tortured everyone with run on sentences enough for today, I'll go ahead and paste my analysis of the changes made in CS2 for Noel that I posted in the main LokeTest thread in Gameplay Discussion. * Mashing midscreen into 4200 damage. Oh boy. Just from MASHING? Yaaaaaaaay! I wonder how much damage the Drive BnB would do now. Noel mains, we still have the most basic CT Haida, am I right? WE GOT THIS BY THE BALLS! :D Okay in a more civilized and analytic manner, let's look at it this way. Noel lost her big bad Rambo Combo, we all knew that a while ago, HOWEVER in exchange for the loss of the extensive Haida loops, she gets out more damage now and she has a fair share of slightly buffed/nerfed normals. In other words, combos are shorter, but do more damage. I see no problems here, I think she's actually better and obviously just a little bit easier to use. Boys and girls who main the useless one of the cast, I hope you all remember the most basic Haida because I sure do and it'll be time to start using it again when CS2 rolls around. So there you go. I personally don't find these changes to be that bad or even that good. I think she's a little bit better as far as all around gameplay goes and it looks like she still has some pretty safe stuff to work with. No Rambo Combo or other extensive Haidas, oh well, I never did get enough time to sit and learn them due to circumstances already previously mentioned. The most basic Haida still works, right? Noel does more damage, right? Go get 'em. - Cannot Cancel Forward Throw Aww balls... Yeahhh I know, I went and read your post in the other thread just minutes after posting here and I was like "FFFFFFFFFFFF!" ._. There's still a good amount of stuff to work with anyways so I can't really say it's THAT big of a deal. So 3C 22C 6C 22C 66C 22C 66C 22C j.B jc j.B j.C(3) j.236C doesn't even work anymore? I'll admit it's slightly shocking but there's plenty more to work with off of 3C and other combo starters. As long as we can still do standalone drive specials on landing (because it's fun to surprise people with IAD d.623D) and 3C still goes under a lot of stuff, I'm not going to be that bothered by any changes at all. Noel still has A LOT of potential and can definitely be worked with.

That's what they said last time, yet we found combos that did even MORE damage than most of the CT Noel combos. I know one thing that probably just won't change about Noel unless they completely change her playstyle and it's the fact that Noel can really hurt things in less than 15 hits. They said Noel got damage nerfed for CS1, yet I still find a drive BnB that does even more damage than the old drive BnB. Too bad we won't be able to do that combo anymore either because for whatever reason, they took out the JC-ability of d.5C, yet we're hearing about getting 4k off of just mashing alone in the latest Loke. See a pattern here? They can't damage nerf her, they'd have to take away her guns and make her fat first so that she can't use the normals she has that bring the pain in the first place. It's just like when they said they damage nerfed C-Sion in MBAA. With her j.[C] around, I FAILED TO SEE THE NERF. Anywho that's another story, we're discussing the chick with the beret that's in BlazBlue, not Mashy Blood.

Well yeah but my point is that they "nerf" her damage, but they keep leaving things to work with that produce the same, if not, even more damage. Me and my point are standing on top of the main optimism train with pride until we get a bigger 411 on CS2 Noel like new found combos and stuff because my MLC told me to.

We will probably have to wait until release to find out exactly what they did to them.

Oh and nerfing damage but giving her longer combos to make up for it is in no way a bad thing. Quite the contrary, actually. Longer combos also means more heat, thus more damage, CA to get out of pressure, and RC to put on pressure and prolong combos. Edited November 18, 2010 by Chiizu

The line in the blog that corresponds to what's above is: ノエルは暴れから中央でも4200? And the word that I'm seeing on there is "暴れ," or "abare," which directly translates to "raging or struggling," so mashing would make sense. However, I looked in the fighting games dictionary, and "abare" is actually a character's ability to do high amounts of damage off of either random hits or basic hits. This could mean that Noel's BnB, and not mashing, is able to do 4200. Other translators might want to confirm this. Noel players should be happy about this. I'm bound to mess up the translation on something as big as this, so don't get too excited yet.
