DragonLordZ Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 https://twitter.com/dora_bang/status/498408965122703360 https://twitter.com/dora_bang/status/498407506092109825 https://twitter.com/dora_bang/status/498438778034221058 I've found some more Bang changes from Dora (or at least I think they're changes), a translation would be more than appreciated.
NumeroGaijin Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Mori needs to stop overnerfing Tager, stop catering to particular characters, and give us characters that actually add hype. I am sorry but Celica is not going to add hype to this game for long and neither is Lambda because she is NOT a new character. Just because you tweak her doesn't make her Nu (pun but who cares). Give us Jubei or at least someone new we haven't seen before. If they decide to do that and many other things it will produce extended hype that will carry over. Face the facts Mori.....Murakumo's are overdone and Dolls are overdone. They are not hype and they are not cool if they lack unique gameplay and styles. Murakumos are basically run away zoners and the dolls are lockdown pressure based.
Rhannmah Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 how much BB sucked compared to Guilty Gear BB is still and probably always will be an inferior game to GG. We GG fans just shut up about it and either picked it up in parallel or moved on.
Chaoschao222 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 We GG fans just shut up about it Some have, but apparently, some won't.
someonewhodied Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 blech i've given up caring about this loketest. If i don't have my modechange returned by the last loketest though..... ಠ_ಠ
Yurushi Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Sometimes you don't realize how good of something you have until you lose it. That's kind of how I feel.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 You can't please everybody. People will complain no matter what ASW does. If there's one thing people learned once the internet took off, it's that it enables them to have their voice be heard. And by Yog-Sothoth, someone's got to agree with it. I think you and TD got the idea. We're now going through the routine of a new BB. And that's the thing: it has become routine. We hear they're adding new stuff in, we hype for the characters added, we play it for a time until next year when we hear news of a new BB and repeat the process. I think Mori's looking for that spark that launched CT. I dunno if he'll find it, but it'd be nice if he did. While I still love BB and the new stuff does excite me, the excitement is not long-lasting like it was in 2008 where getting the opportunity to play BB literally plagued my mind 24/7. Yea, I got to agree; when I first played BB about 2 1/2 years ago, it was the hypest shit for me, but now it's just kind of become routine. It's why I latched onto other games like Persona 4 Arena, UNiEL, and Street Fighter(ironically), because they felt like a change of pace. When I eventually get bored of UNiEL and go back to BB, I'll probably have a little more appreciation for it. But yea, some people are just excited for a Blazblue no matter what, while others have just kind gotten used to it. Only way I could see Mori completely giving BB a new spark is if he completely overhauled the system, and that might piss more people off than attract. But like you said, can't please everyone.
Rhannmah Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 blech i've given up caring about this loketest. If i don't have my modechange returned by the last loketest though..... ಠ_ಠ I don't know how you can expect to have it back when it's been put on a "new" character entirely
zaeris Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I don't know how you can expect to have it back when it's been put on a "new" character entirelyyou know "insert plot device" even the entire lambda thing is a plot device, you can do lots of things adding twist. Anyway its just data originally that gave nu the ability. Again story and fighting game don't mesh well or at least shouldn't dictate the gameplay. they should just remain as background.
Rhannmah Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 yeah, i'm talking strictly in terms of gameplay; there's no way they would put nu's mode change back when it would make lambda's existence completely pointless (her existence is already very debatable as is)
D.R.F. Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Idk a lot Nu players are happy that Nu doesnt have mode change anymore (probably due to difficulty) but I am going to miss the mechanic. I hate nu, but the stance change made her such a more interesting character.
Rhannmah Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 oh, i agree and i think lambda is a character that shouldn't exist (well at least, as being a complete carbon copy of nu with 2 different moves, that shit is the laziest character ever made, it makes decapre look like a fucking nobel prize in design), but now that she does, there's no other choice...
zaeris Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 yeah, i'm talking strictly in terms of gameplay; there's no way they would put nu's mode change back when it would make lambda's existence completely pointless (her existence is already very debatable as is) I don't think mode change invalidate lambda existence in general but it is probably more of arcsys fault for making them too similar, originally cs1 lambda was meant to be a zato eddie thing, a name swap for plot, if they differentiate lambda and nu better it could work. Idk a lot Nu players are happy that Nu doesnt have mode change anymore (probably due to difficulty) but I am going to miss the mechanic. I hate nu, but the stance change made her such a more interesting character. It was a difficulty that came with more flexibility and strength, its not like they made her difficult for the sake of being harder, it had a good reward for learning her new mechanic. Overall a better nu/lambda, although I will add that stance change wasn't a difficult cncept to grasp, at least it is not on the same level as carl or eddie. anyway, everyone is free to their opinion on who they want to play, so I will stop here on that point. edit: guess i'm more disappointed that they split an interesting and fun character to create 2 equal boring character.
D.R.F. Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 They could have completely remodeled lambda. But whatever im not a designer and they had only so much time before they would released cp2
Ragnarok_F4 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I think the problem here is the huge wait between the arcade version and the console version (and even more time for the US version). I mean, BBCP launched almost 2 years ago, they had almost 2 years to play BBCP a lot until they were satisfied and now they are refreshing the game. The US got released like 7 months ago and we're hearing word of the new revision, seems like we even couldn't digest the game properly. On another note, but in the same thread, we always play an old version of the game most of the time. It's annoying to see matches with new mechanics and chars and you stuck playing with the past version. Of course this is because of the arcade market, a general problem in most FG, but I had the need to point it out.

Master Of Chaos Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Conzidering ASW schedules with new games, I have a feeling we'll be getting CP 2 long after Ultimax and XRD've been released. It'll give me something to look foward to, anyway.
Airk Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 just a healthy reminderWell, I'm glad you're here to remind us of your completely subjective opinion. Heaven forbid we forget that some people like whatever the played first. :P
Errol Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Thank you for correcting my translation. I'm kind of new to translating stuff and I have never translated something to English before, so I really appreciate someone double checking and correcting any mistakes. I'll be more careful when I translate next time. Not at all. GJ.
Hecatom Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Man, some of you really love to post stupid bullshit lmao
BloodWolF Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Well, I've been gone for the last few days, but it looks like this train never really stopped, lol. I'm looking forward to seeing what changes they make next, honestly. I miss my mode switch already, but we've got the tools and dedication to adapt and keep learning, which will be fun. CP was my most enjoyable iteration so far after all and I've thoroughly enjoyed the new Nu. However, I see a lot of salt over these potential changes, but who really knows where we'll end up. Just keep playing until the day you don't find it fun anymore. I wouldn't worry too much until then.
mAc Chaos Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I RETURN FROM OTAKON Were there any more Hakumen changes? I've thought before that it might be pure nostalgia that drives fond memories of CT. But I've booted it back up and played it before years later and still enjoyed it. For Tager, what I recall of Mike Z's objection was basically that in CT he had explosive damage off 720 and his combos that he liked, but in CS1 they toned that down and slightly buffed his normals. He was technically a more solid character, but he was more boring and still terrible anyway.
