NecroTheReaper Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 They've proven that big damage doesn't lead to good characters though. Kagura can break 4k in the corner and up to 3.5k midscreen without meter off a grab, but he's still havin some hard times. He even has a meterless good DP, something that Celica lacks
Angry Guy of DE Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Well Celica's doll doesn't seem to be tied to a gauge so those normals involving the doll are still directly connected to her. Damage per combo < ability to get a hit to start combo. Though I wonder how sad some of Celica's hit boxes will look once we can see in hit box viewer. Probably not too many disjointed hitboxes that we might've thought at first, in fact she's probably a fat chick like Rachel with how wide her hit boxes are.
Myoro Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Will we even get to see CP hitboxes one day? I've been wondering about the scope and size of some character's normals. (Is there a CP hitbox viewer I'm not aware of?)
chzchan Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Isn't all the game data a closely guarded secret now? Nobody has been able to crack it (or had the motivation to) so far, right? Like nobody knows if the CP hitboxes even look remotely similar to the Extend ones. I find that funny.

Like nobody knows if the CP hitboxes even look remotely similar to the Extend ones. I find that funny. Why are developers so weird about letting people see hitboxes? Players are going to catalog frame data and all that stuff anyway, so it's not like the games won't be dissected. I remember the hitbox viewer in the training mode for SF2 HD Remix was a celebrated feature people really loved and expected to see adopted as a standard feature in future fighting games. It's so weird game developers would purposely refuse to meet that demand. Unless they're just worried people will identify sloppy hitbox placement...?

I'm sure it's partly that they don't want people to complain about it, but I'm also pretty sure that it's MOSTLY the fact that it's a feature that's going to be used by like 1% of their userbase and which probably takes a relatively nontrivial amount of time and effort to implement.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 They may also be taking the SNK route, where SNK regularly didn't even reveal detailed frame data for their games. My guess is that they feel this will extend the life of the game by increasing how long it takes for everything to get figured out.
bakahyl Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Back to this old subject from a few weeks ago Jins bout to pop into S rank now too with news of 6D being broken. Jin's 6d really doesn't look that amazing after seeing this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4znYAN2OXcM&t=1h3m6s
chzchan Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Ragna IB'd 6C, so he was able to smack Jin before the projectile even comes out. You're talking about the supposed guaranteed startup, right?
bakahyl Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Instant blocked jin's 6c , assuming it's stayed the same then it still has 20f of blockstun (thus 20-3), and punished 6d startup with a CH 5b (8f) before the guaranteed startup of 6d appears... Basically i am not impressed with this socalled "broken" 6d Also i don't think this is correct 27 frame startup, but it has guaranteed startup, +6 on block. 6C>6D. IB 6C > 5a/2a ends up in a trade (obviously in Jin's favor). Apparently Nu's calamity sword also results in a trade, from the guaranteed after startup stuff.
Errol Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 take it up with dogura https://twitter.com/maneater_dgr/status/527117605966856192 it seems like it might be something like if you barrier IB you're toast, but tbh I don't know what, exactly, the reason for that is. It could be nu specific. I do know that jins I've been playing have been mashing that 6D stuff but cat chair deals with it well so.
Syklone Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Speaking of Dogura, is he trying to play Nu now instead of Azrael?
Synyster17 Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Speaking of Dogura, is he trying to play Nu now instead of Azrael? i think so but i could b wrong. he is playing a lot of characters right now like azr, nu, and haz.
Syklone Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I would really like him to stay far away from Hazama >
Volt Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Speaking of Dogura, is he trying to play Nu now instead of Azrael? Maybe he's trying to pick a sub. Doesn't Azrael have a lot of bad matchups?
TeeJay Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I would really like him to stay far away from Hazama > he already subbed Hazama in CP1 if I'm not mistaken.
Syklone Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 he already subbed Hazama in CP1 if I'm not mistaken. Yeah he did. I would rather him main Azrael though. I liked his Az
StylisH Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 i think so but i could b wrong. he is playing a lot of characters right now like azr, nu, and haz. Trying to keep up with that top tier
Verimeloni Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Trying to keep up with that top tier He never played Kokonoe tho
Blackwing55 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Dogura is really unimpressive as Haz. I wish he would stay away just so he stays relevent becaue I like him.
9:02 PM Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Minerva confirmed for being a giant hurtbox during Celica's attacks. I can see now why she is not considered to be powerful as a character. I had been assuming the entire time that Minerva would be this gigantic wall of active hitbox frames that would shield the hurtbox which would be Celica herself, but nope. She may have even worse hitbox structure than Tao. That's not all that unusual. A lot of normals (even ones that are considered really good) are like this. Ragna 5B at max distance gets beat clean by Azrael 2A CH. Try it at home, kids.
StylisH Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 He never played Kokonoe tho Yes, but it remains to be seen if she'll be good enough in CP2 or not.
Airk Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Yes, but it remains to be seen if she'll be good enough in CP2 or not. "Good enough" for what? :P She's always good enough to die in a fire. :P
Litherain-XIII Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 "Good enough" for what? :P She's always good enough to die in a fire. :P C'mon now! Preach brotha preach!
Errol Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 After like 6 weeks of this game I'm feeling pretty sure it's going to just be a simple patch. It's not good enough to pay for.
