SixWingedAngel Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I'm pretty sure they just don't know what to do, which is why every incarnation changes around a bunch of stuff (Extend Tsubaki was supposed to be all about the install super!) That's because she was just a placeholder until Izayoi got introduced (a character who actually gets better and better with every update) inb4 she gets removed in BB4 because mori and friends are too lazy to work with a non-skimpily-dressed female character. I think that loyal Tsubaki players are even more respectable than loyal Makoto players. At least the squirrel had a strong start as well. I hope she really is better in cp2
Myoro Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I think a fall from grace is harder to deal with than being impoverished one's whole existence. That "you can't miss what you never had" sort of deal. Anyway we should totally follow Kiba's recommendation to can further Tsubaki talk or else move it to a character forum lest we incur the wrath of the moderators!
Airk Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I think a fall from grace is harder to deal with than being impoverished one's whole existence. That "you can't miss what you never had" sort of deal. I dunno. I think most people whose character takes a nosedive just move to someone else. Respect for those that don't, but they're a minority, I think. Of course, maybe that's proof you're right. :P

White Man Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 More new features announced for Chrono Phantasma Extend: Tournament Match, a new online mode where you can organize tournaments between hundreds of players who will inevitably get fed up from waiting hours for their turn and leave early. BlazKart, a new mode where your favorite BlazBlue characters take the battle to the track in eight-player races. Sim Kagutsuchi, a new mode where you assume the role of the Imperator and use your in-game currency to upgrade and expand the 13th Hierarchical City while keeping your virtual citizens terrified and subservient. Lambda-11 Laboratory, a new mode where you can customize Lambda's move set in an effort to make her not totally suck. BlazParty Fever, a new mode where up to four players compete in riotous BB-themed minigames like Taokaka Bowling and Tic-Tac-Toe But With Ragna and Jin Heads Instead of X's and O's. BlazBurn, a new mode where you use either PS Move or the Kinect to activate your character's special moves and shed a few pounds in the process. (Upload your score and weight to the online leaderboards to find out who is the BlazBurn Champion!) Side Character Stories. Learn how Linhua spends her day off; embark on a thrilling adventure with three identical Ikaruga Ninjas; laugh along with unlikely roommates Nago and Gii as they endure zany predicaments and wacky misunderstandings. EX Unlimited Mars, a new take on Unlimited Mars where every character is invincible and capable of a one-hit KO. Failure results in a sixteen-minute-long sequence of unskippable loading and overly-elaborate game over screens. EX Training: Basically the same as regular training mode, but with separate trophies/achievements for clocking in a certain number of hours. Menu Race, a new mode where you navigate through different in-game menu screens as quickly as possible. (Upload your best time to the online leaderboards to find out who is the Menu Master!) New stages. Fight on revised versions of classic CP stages, such as Blockaded District at dusk, Snow Town in the middle of summer (renamed "Town"), and Yggdrasill Seed with litter and broken beer bottles covering the floor. Over 700 unlockable character stickers you can use to decorate your D-Code profile card.
FA-ST Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 BlazKart, a new mode where your favorite BlazBlue characters take the battle to the track in eight-player races. I actually thought this was legit. Would be a good way to spend time in player matches while waiting for your turn, since they won't let us train while waiting.
VermilionBird Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Lambda-11 Laboratory actually sounds like something we need tho Just waiting on the day (thatllneverhappen) that BlazBlue comes to the Wii U or New 3DS and they release BlazBlue Amiibo's - then I can take my Lambda Amiibo with me everywhere
chzchan Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I actually thought this was legit. Would be a good way to spend time in player matches while waiting for your turn, since they won't let us train while waiting. I actually really miss that function. I wonder why they removed it. Not being able to train while waiting in CP sort of encouraged me to do more ranked matches than player matches since I could do stuff in the training room and still have some sort of player interaction with ranked entry on in the background. Hope they add it back eventually.
TD Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 all of this new stuff sounds quite intriguing. wonder if the mini games will be allowed on netplay.

SixWingedAngel Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Why isn't White Man in an arksys development room ?
StylisH Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Why isn't White Man in an arksys development room ? His common sense would get him fired.

Dreiko Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 how did Bang's Drives change? does this affect rachel too? 6D is not frame-1 guardpoint any more so if you do a real meaty I get counterhit trying to 6D on wakeup. 2D is faster and safer but not jump cancellable on block any more, either. Basically, they nerfed his defense even more for buffing his reward off of smaller confirms.
FA-ST Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Famitsu scan from allgamesbeta http://a.pomf.se/vckwcf.jpg Oh hey, I just noticed that it looks like you can check your P$s while in the lobby, maybe they really are trying to make them useful.
Myoro Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Oh hey, I just noticed that it looks like you can check your P$s while in the lobby, maybe they really are trying to make them useful. It'd be neat if spectators could bet on matches.
NeoStrayCat Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 It'd be neat if spectators could bet on matches. So...BlazeBet or BlueBet then?
mAc Chaos Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Let's get back to analysis and facts. Less wishlisting and speculation.
TekkamanArk Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 For the sake of someone else, i'd like to ask something here that I don't know the answer to. Between Lambda and Nu, which has the better overall matchups?
Mucky Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Actually, this should be good for discussion; what do you guys think of your characters across all of the versions? And no, this isn't to bitch about how much they currently suck, I just want something to talk about and an opinion of who everyone plays. Hope I'm not too late with this! TAGER ANALYSIS CT: Basically a grab machine, and not much else. His ability to combo off regular hits was piss poor, especially on standing opponents. Circumstantially he could get explosive damage, which is saying a lot since CT was a game where 3-4k damage combos were thrown around like candy. His normal throws were useful in this game, since they did more damage than his command throws and had non-Spark Bolt variations. He was legitimately scary up close, but his biggest weaknesses were his huge ugly hitbox and poor walking speed. Couple with that with the top 3 characters all being zoners, and there wasn't a whole lot for Tager to do except get timed out. CS1: Meh. He retained most of his CT combos, and his combos were more consistent overall, but his damage output was hit pretty hard thanks to his reduced character combo proration and the introduction of SMP. Gadget Finger wasn't very good at the time. A few characters had jumps with such fast startups that they could get out for free (Litchi, Arakune, etc.). It was a good move on paper, but frame data prevented it from being useful. Personally I don't know why people say they liked this version of Tager; he didn't improve very much. CS2: oh my god. They just kept making his damage worse. His forward throw became subject to the new corner-only concept, immediately relegating it to those awkward moments where they anticipated a green throw that never came and ended up getting a free throw. All it did was send them hurtling toward the other side of the screen, with precisely enough time for both players to down a shot. That about sums up how useless he felt in this iteration. CSX: Probably the first iteration where Tager made big strides. He got a lot of his damage back, Gadget Finger was finally good, and magnetized 5A was insane. IIRC this was the iteration where the magnetism on his D moves was changed to only pull during active frames. It took some time for Tagers to adjust, but overall it made his 5D and j.D harder to challenge. 2D was really strong here, and it made Noels cry. He had a lot of great punishes, including one combo that did 7.5k damage. FEELS SO GOOD. Tier-wise I don't think he moved up a lot, but he didn't feel awful to play anymore. CP1: Continuing the pattern of improvements from Extend. GP and aerial 360 were nice additions, GP in particular contributing to some high damage combos. Magnetized 5A was promoted from insane to absolutely ridiculous, being a consistent 3.4k-ish damage. I don't really like what they did with his AC, but it didn't impact his game very much. Overall, things were fine. Things were dandy. CP1.1: And then they nerfed his backdash. CP2: When I first saw Dogura claiming he's become S-tier, I was skeptical. To see others agreeing with him has prompted me to take a closer look at match videos. Some of his changes have mindblowing implications. Hammer followup gaining guard point not only makes poking Tager more dangerous, it also allows him to bait bursts and CAs. In all previous versions, Sledge was a guaranteed CA/burst for the opponent, but here it carries a huge risk. His ability to convert hits into combos was already pretty good in previous versions, but it's gone through the roof in CP2. Midscreen 6C gives Tager an unconditional 5k, midscreen 5D is an unconditional 3.5k, and random j.D hits pretty much always lead to a combo. Though I wonder if people are going too far by saying he's S-tier. I still haven't been able to understand how Nu is getting steamrolled. No fancy version tier list.
Moy_X7 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Waiting for a LoL match to happen, meanwhile, Plat analysis time CSII - Silly damage, 5A +1 on block, unpolished items. 2C loops and 2C to 7K+ da gawd. MJ combos did a shitton of damage. Even though she did silly damage, her items were pretty crappy at the time. CSE - Plat's golden age, her pokes got buffed, her items got buffed, her combos got buffed, her only nerfs were her 2C's damage reduction and 5A being -1 on block but even then she could still crap out 6K out of a 2C. j.C loop da gawd, RIP best Plat. CP Vanilla - Bad Plat was bad, the changes to pushback on her normals and Barrier buffs really hurt her combos and pressure. Corner oki is now somewhat situational, MJ combos do crap damage. Extremely hard to combo off j.C due to pushback and hitstun nerfs and 2B was nerfed pretty hard in terms of recovery. Presents da gawd tho and lol at her reversal being one of the most situational reversals in the game but hey better than nothing. CP 1.1 - j.C received a slight hitstun buff lel. Other than that, Plat is mostly the same as CP Vanilla. CP was just a huge turnoff for me but CPE looks promising. CP2 - 236AAAX now ground bounces, which opens up a world of combo routes anywhere in the screen. 3C > 5D opens op new combo and oki routes. 3C > MJ > 5C opens up a world of delicious combos (even though they still do shit damage). RIP presents. #when'sCPE? Silly Tier List TIme: CSE > CP2 >>>>>>>>>>CP 1.1 > CP Vanilla > CSII
