Chaoschao222 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Yeah, but it's a dickish thing to say. Yeah, but...
Luminos564 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) The point of "deal with it" statements is that if there's nothing you can do to fix the situation, bargaining, complaining, or etc'ing about it won't help you, meaning your best option is to in fact, deal with it and move on. It may not be a fun option, but life isn't fun, life's a bitch. Ah, is that right (genuinely didn't know)? Well, I'd make the argument that people vent their frustrations in various methods that help them "deal with it" and people that complain about those who are complaining and generally don't like a situation should "deal with it" instead but then we'd be going in circles so much, the universe would implode unto itself. So I'll drop this here. You have my thanks for explaining though. Also, since when were console players not "actual players?" Right, that came out wrong on my part. When I mentioned "actual players" I intended to say say "to see someone playing (matches)" as opposed to pre-made trailers and clips. The reason I spoke of the arcade is because I very rarely ever see someone posting PSN/XBLA matches. Edited August 16, 2013 by Luminos564
Blackwing55 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 The deal with it statements grew in popularity after an Xbox employ stated that always online was the future anyone that doesn't have online doesn't deserve it. Yadda yadda "hashtag dealwithit" he has hence been replaced.
NeoStrayCat Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Alright guys, can we just keep it civil and be on topic (not that there's much to say here for now until up to JP release), besides, the trifecta of new ArcSys stuff is at hand, and I'd take those discussions on-topic there, lol. But if anyone has anything new to share, go right ahead.

Yeah, between BBCP, GGXrd and the new Persona 4 Arena it seems that ASW is going out of their way to Astral Finish/Instant Kill as many wallets as they possibly can. Not that I mind it though .

So what you're REALLY saying is that if you have to resort to "deal with it" then you're basically wrong, and the thing that is being discussed is in fact terrible and should be fixed?

Yup basically. It feels like its used sarcastically to me when ever someone says deal with it.
00Bubbles00 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 "Deal with it" is overused and has already "taken an arrow to the knee" from the "O RLY?" owl.
spaghetti Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 So we just going to talk about bumming each other until 2014? I'm totally okay with this.
NeoStrayCat Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 So we just going to talk about bumming each other until 2014? I'm totally okay with this. Well, nothing much here until there's more Terumi/Kagura/Console/Etc. info coming soon (and/or later down the line), so yeah. (That, and wait for the inevitable Relius/Amane AH's to the new console chars, lol. )
ramendo9 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 If there are any people in boston who cant wait to play but cant import You be welcome to Play BBCP by october at my place ^_^
Myoro Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 so to be clear, (because I don't know for certain) The main changes to the system, excluding character specific ones, are: 1. the game speed was upped 2. guard primers were booted in favor of crush triggers 3. gravity seems to have been increased (I could be wrong here but the Tao Q&A cites her falling faster as the reason for her 5C>j.b>j.2b>j.C>ETC. not working) 4. a universal damage nerf 5. some kind of combo time system, prioration now only affects damage 6. overdrive in place of gold bursts, green burst's color changed to gold 7. wall-stick in the place of wall-bounce in many instances 8. jabs, in general, have gotten better P1 for slightly more damage? 9. a universal grab range nerf Anything to add or correct?
beanwich Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I hope to get an import copy, I can't wait until October!
00Bubbles00 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) 10. Recharging burst meter like p4A instead of given per round. 11. Hold button to tech at earliest time possible instead of tapping. ?12. Lower corner combo damage generally due to combo time system (starter rating modifier). Edited August 19, 2013 by 00Bubbles00
SolxBaiken Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 10. Recharging burst meter like GG instead of given per round. Fixed for self-satisfaction~
samthegreat Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I wouldn't say the damage nerf is completely universal. Jin and Hazama (except off houtenjin) immediately come to mind.
Airk Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I wouldn't say the damage nerf is completely universal. Jin and Hazama (except off houtenjin) immediately come to mind. Agreed. As usual, there is no "universal damage nerf"; They probably tried, but frankly, they didn't succeed. Jin's damage seems to have gone UP. Tsubaki's damage certainly went up (thank god). Hakumen's damage certainly didn't go DOWN. I'd strike any broad statements about damage. Also, it's not really that "game speed" has been upped (it hasn't) but that HITSTOP has been reduced rather a lot.
Errol Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 the universal thing is the time based part of the combo system. even with jabs being restricted to have really short combos, even that isn't a universal damage nerf. Because there exist certain characters that can pull off 7.5k combos from jab starters in CP. Sorry I mean there exists one character who can do that. different effects on different characters as usual
00Bubbles00 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Is it Hakumen? ZEEEAAAHH!!!! The 5A and 2A starter rating has definitely affected the game. When watching the match vids, there is a lot less getting stuck in the corner and dying in CP than CSE since a 5A/2A starter bnb combo in the corner might only get 2k-2.5k damage. Do any of the overdrives affect combo time? Edited August 20, 2013 by 00Bubbles00
shtkn Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Damage_(BBCP)#Combo_System
psycofang2 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Is it Hakumen? ZEEEAAAHH!!!! And all he needs is 5 stars already in stock and you in the corner for all his stars and burst. (no one in their right mind would really do this unless it was it was the final round vs a tsubaki player cuz that b**** is braindead) also he needs you to stand there and take 5A>renka>kishhu>6C to the face...without bursting.
Dark Ranger88 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (no one in their right mind would really do this unless it was it was the final round vs a tsubaki player cuz that b**** is braindead). What exactly do you mean by braindead? I haven't really looked at Tsu in CP yet.
