Stellarcircle5 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 it be nice to have a college teacher sponser an A student to go to EVO and if he makes top 16 the student will be given a 20,000 dollar grant for college Don't even tease me with what-if scenarios like that. We all know the world isn't THAT ideal.
Liminal18 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Will EVO allow kokonoe? Valentine accessories are cool. I am sure the Kokonoe question was answered somewhere else. Edit: kokonoe allowed post patch. My bad sorry. Edited February 7, 2014 by Liminal18
sparkaura Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Depending on my money, I may go. Being a college student is hard on the pockets QQ
Dark Ranger88 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 We all have 6 months to become gods at this game. I wonder if any Japanese players will fly over.
NecroTheReaper Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 What I want most of all from this game actually has nothing to do with this game. I want whoever designs the dpads for ps3/4/whatever gone and a guy who actually realizes "oh, our vita dpads are really good with 8 total directions, why don't we use a dpad with a useful 8 directions instead of 4 buttons, cuz ypu know... PEOPLE PLAY MORE THAN COD"
Liminal18 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Depending on my money, I may go. Being a college student is hard on the pockets QQ Prize pay out should be about 5-10k usd if you make the top 8. That might be enough to attract Japanese players.
50-50ç½ Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I wonder what percent of the players that want changes to the tops are legit and not hate. Some of these suggestions obviously scream "arc sys plz make the character stahp raping me, I'm ass and dnt want to admit it"! Some points are valid but most are just hating. NecroTheReaper Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Honestly, I could care less about top tiers getting nerfed (save Koko) and bottom tiers getting buffed, but everyone's convinced that's not how Arksys does things.

FinalDoomGuy Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Why?;/ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk Because it was cool as fuck to essentially throw down the gauntlet and buff yourself up while shredding your health.

Wait do you mean 5-10k split between the top 8 players. Or "If you make it to the top 8 you're going to get somewhere between 5k and 10k."

How Arcsys works outside of G-Gear is they randomly "balance" most of the cast while keeping certain characters perpetually S-tier (ex. Hazama, Narukami) and others awful tier (ex. Tsubaki, Elizabeth). Its either that or something involving liquor and a dart board.

Tsubaki works strangely in CP and Liz doesn't work in P4U2. They're obviously drunk on their own power while playing The King's Game.

The creator is even on record as not really caring about balance.
Justice7541 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I think Arcsys just wants to try to keep things fresh, unlike Capcom which is pretty much fine with just making really minor tweaks purely for balance. That's why Jin is a totally different character in CP but Ken and Ryu have had the same moveset since like 2000. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

Yeah, because games sure do get bad if you have to like, explore the nuances and stuff over time...

I agree, ASW is giving us new and interesting approaches to the same game without changing the core. But looks like some people would've been more happy with BBCT5. Balancing these kinds of games is not hard, but keeping it while adding new elements and characters is. BBCP is pretty balanced for a fresh new interation and I see people often comparing it with CSEX and CS2, but I believe that comparing it with CT and CS1 is much more fair. Then, we finally see how good CP is.

Exactly its a new game (still) and its still moderately balanced and if this is a horribly unbalanced then Idk what to call vanilla 4 and vanilla injustice Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

You can still make interesting changes to a general formula within a game and keep the characters/mechanics relatively balanced. Is it hard to do so? Yes, if previous incarnations of fighters are anything to go on. Arcsys needs to at least TRY to not have advantages skewed so heavily in the favor of the top-tiers. They're doing better than most other FG making companies overall, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try to improve things. The top-tier has different characters from game to game, but the gaps between the S, A, B, and C tiers has been practically the same (at least in BB).
